Key Lime Pie VII

Reviewed: Sep. 4, 2011
Have made the egg yolk version of Key Lime Pie many times. I think I like this version better! I used "Nellie & Jo's Famous Key West Lime Juice" in a bottle. Perfect. Will make this version again.

Sesame Parmesan Zucchini

Reviewed: Jul. 30, 2010
DIt was soggy and flavorless. I was expecting it to brown up a little, but it didn't. We didn't care for it.

The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2008
I made a big mistake this year when I made this recipe. These cookies were difficult to roll, bland tasting, and I had a terrible keeping them from burning. I lowered the oven temp, but even that didn't seem to help. I really kept my eye on them, but they burned so quickly! One minute they were fine (almost done) and the next thing I knew they were black on the bottom. I made lots of cookies for Christmas and I used new, good quality cookie sheets with parchment paper, so...who knows? The recipe I usually use is great and I never should have switched. I will post my sugar cookie recipe the minute I get a chance. I hope you try it. They are the best sugar cookie I have eaten!

Special Spring Vegetable Mix

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2008
This was delicious and so colorful. I omitted the atichokes and snow peas and added some frozen corn. It makes a lovely presentation...so colorful. I made it to take to my mother-in-laws for Easter. Too bad we left it at home sitting on the counter top! It would have been a nice addition to the meal! :)

Cream Cheese Frosting II

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2008
This recipe was perfect. I put it on my carrot cake. Made a generous amount. Nice and smooth and creamy. I added just a few drops of milk to thin it out.

I thought this was really good. As good as any restaurant. I added capers...because I love 'em! Perfect!

Buttermilk Pancakes II

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2007
These pancakes were just "okay." Nothing to rave about. I was looking for a fluffy pancake, like the description said. I was very disappointed...we thought they were heavy and wet, eventhough I did not overstir the batter. I've had much lighter pancakes. I'm going back to my old recipe.

Glazed Beef Loaf

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2007
I've made this recipe for my family for years. It's our favorite! I recently misplaced my copy of the recipe and was happy to find it here. I usually form mine into two loaves, putting them side by side in a 9 x 13" pan. Hint: Leave some of the leftover loaf unsliced...it makes a terrific meatloaf sandwich the next day...when it's cold, slice it very thin and serve on toasted bread with mayo and lettuce. Delicious!

Cucumbers with Sour Cream

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2005
This recipe was very good. I, too, used sour cream. The addition of the dill and onions was great.

Cool Cucumber Molded Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2005
This recipe was just "okay." A good way to use up my overabundance of cucumbers, though. Next time I think I'll add some crushed pineapple.
