About this Cook
I'm a busy mother of 3 kids. I love to cook (and wish I had more time to do it) but these days I rely on quick and easy menus.
My favorite things to cook
I like to bake and am especially interested in perfecting recipes that represent my Hungarian heritage.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Over the years I've been faithful to old family favorites for the holidays and now my family expects them at holiday time. No matter how simple or monotonous, my kids and husband aren't very adventurous...just the old standards!
My cooking triumphs
Working as a director with The Pampered Chef, teaching cooking classes for "Apples of Gold," upholding the family tradition of a sit-down family dinner each night and learning to make the ethnic recipes of my youth. Also, I'm proud of the fact that I can make a terrific pie...especially the crust!
My cooking tragedies
My earliest cooking tragedies as a teenager are my most memorable, most notably a lemon meringue pie with crust that had to be 1/2" thick. My dad ate it anyway and told me it was great (bless his heart)!

Key Lime Pie VII
Have made the egg yolk version of Key Lime Pie many times. I think I like this version better! I used "Nellie & Jo's Famous Key West Lime Juice" in a bottle. Perfect. Will make this version again.

Sesame Parmesan Zucchini
DIt was soggy and flavorless. I was expecting it to brown up a little, but it didn't. We didn't care for it.

The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies
I made a big mistake this year when I made this recipe. These cookies were difficult to roll, bland tasting, and I had a terrible keeping them from burning. I lowered the oven temp, but even that didn't seem to help. I really kept my eye on them, but they burned so quickly! One minute they were fine (almost done) and the next thing I knew they were black on the bottom. I made lots of cookies for Christmas and I used new, good quality cookie sheets with parchment paper, so...who knows? The recipe I usually use is great and I never should have switched. I will post my sugar cookie recipe the minute I get a chance. I hope you try it. They are the best sugar cookie I have eaten!
