Lemon Filling

Reviewed: Jun. 23, 2009
this was a pain to make. despite having it on low-medium heat the egg started to curdle... it was really gross, esp with the zest clumping too. i eventually ran it through a sieve and worked off of that. mixing it with the whipped cream (homemade) defeated the purpose of me whipping the cream in the first place. this concoction is now in the freezer, im hoping it will become more workable. the flavor is pretty good but this specific recipe needs too many changes for me to give it anything above 2.

Papa Drexler's Bavarian Pretzels

i have a pretty bad track record with recipes requiring yeast. but i followed this recipe exactly and they came out fantastic. i made 8 instead of 6, and just ate 3 myself. :X Really delicious with your fave mustard!

Pecan Pie IV

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2009
This recipe is impossible to mess up. Tried it out today with a friend (it was our first time venturing into pecan pie making). We actually followed the recipe on the KARO light corn syrup bottle which IS this recipe except it says you can substitute margarine and doesnt specify using an unbaked crust. So we used I can't Believe It's Not Butter and a Nilla crust, don't think it was detrimental to the final product in the slightest. We couldnt even wait until it cooled, so delish!

Apple Bread

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2008
I didn't have eggs so instead of the 2 eggs I added this vegan friendly concoction: 4 tbsp flour, 1 tbsp shortening, 1 tsp baking powder and 6 tbsp water. I also used 1/2 cup of light brown sugar and 1 1/2 cups of white sugar, and instead of walnuts added almonds. (in the recipe, and also sprinkled on top). Came out delicious! The bread and apples are moist, and the almonds contribute a nice crunch. It was a breeze to make and will def be making it again in the future! (note: i also had to keep it in the oven for the full 45mins, it wasnt quite done after 40)

Best Big, Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie

Reviewed: May 20, 2007
these came out great! i followed the recipe exactly except for the baking time. i kept mine in a bit longer because they looked really pale - - i guess i forgot to take into consideration i used LIGHT brown sugar. in any case, they were in the oven for like 20 - 22 minutes, and the texture was fantastic! I'll definetly be making these again.
