these were just okay. definitely not what i was expecting. i've made pecan pie a couple times before without a problem, i assumed this would be a more portable version of that with more crust. ehhh... the crust wasnt even that great. i used white sugar, and it just seemed like there was waaaay to much flour in there. would prob use butter instead next time, and also light brown sugar. the topping barely resembled pecan pie. the corn syrup and sugar congealed into straightup caramel, and the pecans just rested on top, looking glazed. in order to salvage this creation i melted two ghirardelli milk chocolate + hazelnut bars and drizzled them over the top. the result: happy coworkers. but everyone said it tasted like those russel stover turtle chocolates.. with a crust. it wasnt terrible, but i wouldnt call it a pecan pie bar...
