Salisbury Steak with Mushrooms

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2015
WOW! this is amazing! I don't know if I've ever given a recipe 5 stars but this deserves TEN stars! I grew up with frozen salisberry steak and was excited to try this recipe. I only made a few changes which only enhanced the flavor. 1. I hate the taste of raw onions, so I sautéed the onions that went into beef mixture. 2. my breadcrumbs were pre-seasoned. 3. I added garlic powder to mixture 4. I added a few drops of worch sauce. no major changes but seriously this was a great meal!! thanks for the recipe!!

Restaurant-Style Chicken Scampi

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2015
It took me a little over an hour. the chicken deff needs longer than 5 minutes and the vegetables arent soft after 3 minutes. We cooked them for 15 (atleast) I made a few changes to this recipe. First, for the chicken, I dipped in flour, then milk then put it in the baggie with flour, garlic powder, onion powder, parsley, basil salt/pepper. The chicken was the star of the show! I did not reserve the water and the alfredo turned out just fine. I really liked this recipe and im sure ill make it again. Next time, i will boil the veggies after chopping them to cut out some time to cook them in the skillet. oh, we also seasoned the veggies.

Melinda's Porcupine Meatballs

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2015
These were ok, but i am going to experiment with other recipes. Also, dont forget what one of the steps says---- keep adding water to the sauce if it seems dry. i barely had any sauce :( but as for the meatball itself, it tasted a little plain. also, it was hard to keep together. maybe ill add egg next time?

Colleen's Slow Cooker Jambalaya

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2015
My first time making jambalaya and i think i nailed it! I couldn't find andouille sausage anywhere(!) so i used keilbasa. I could only find hot/sweet italian sausage or maple breakfast sausage. I felt neither of those could be the flavor i was looking for so i just went with keilbasa. Also, I felt the final product was too runny, so i took suggestions and made 4 servings of instant rice then added this the final half hour. I feel like the seasonings were perfect. The only personal problem i had was that i didnt buy a good quality shrimp. When it was frozen, i couldn't tell that it wasn't shelled, so i had to pick out the shrimp after trying it realizing the shell was still on. Epic fail :( oh well. better luck next time. Everything else was fab though!!

Honey-Garlic Slow Cooker Chicken Thighs

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2015
I tried this last night and it was pretty tasty. My slow cooker only offers HIGH 4 or 6 hours.. LOW 8 or 10. I put it on low for 8 hours. I honestly thought the sauce was supposed to thicken like a glaze. Maybe it is because of the extra two hours. Also, the chicken seemed a little dry inside. My fiance loved it but i guess i expected to be wowed! I did use boneless breast. Maybe this is why hahaha. anyways, it was good though. I just wasn't completely blown away. I wanted a nice thick glaze on it :(

Easy BBQ Bake

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2014
This was tasty. I doubled the sauce as suggested. Also, I always rub my chicken with seasonings- garlic powder, onion powder and pepper. FYI, use a shallow pan to cook this. I used a Pyrex dish and the excess sauce just laid there and didnt thicken.. it was pointless to double the sauce lol. Overall, it was really good and super easy!

Quick and Easy Chicken

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2014
Great, easy recipe. I like the person who named this "Sweet N Tangy chicken" Great name for it. I used boneless, skinless tenderloins since i knew that i was going to chop it up (about 8 tenderloins) I doubled the sauce as suggested and used the tip from another review to double sauce: 9 Tbs. ketchup(half a cup + 1 Tbs), 6 Tbs. soy sauce, 5 1/2 Tbs. white sugar, 6 Tbs. lemon juice, 1 1/2 tsp black pepper. Also, I seasoned my chicken while it was cooking with onion powder, garlic salt and pepper. I also chopped the chicken in the pan before adding the sauce. Again, great easy recipe. Served over rice with a side of broccoli.

Meatball Nirvana

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2014
Nice recipe, I think my fiance messed it up and suggested putting it at 425. I enjoyed this recipe but may decrease the red pepper to 1/2 teaspoon instead of 3/4. I'm a wuss when it comes to spicy. These are fine for me, but would be more enjoyable if I tasted the meatball and other seasonings rather than jus feel the kick of the red pepper. Again, it's a personal preference

Cheesecake Brownies

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2014
These were an epic fail for me, but it was my own fault/ I wasn't sure how much to swirl the brownie and cheesecake mixture. i think i did it too much and the cheesecake was non-existant except for the cake-like brownies that turned out. Also, the timing is wrong for this. It says to make as directed on brownie box-- wrong. mine said 24 min. It ended up being like 45 minutes because of the extras. I'm sure next time they will be good but all i had was a cake-like brownie that took 45 minutes to cook and 600 extra calories thanks to the "cheesecake" mixture which i didnt even taste :(

Chicken Enchiladas I

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2014
GREAT recipe! My fiance, sister and i reallllllly enjoyed these! This was my first attempted at ever making homemade enchiladas and i nailed it right outta the park! I did make a few changes, but nothing too major. First, I made a dry rub for the chicken of garlic powder, onion powder, oregano & pepper before cooking them. Some people complained of bland flavors so I thought this would help. Also, I'm not a fan of raw onion so after cooking the chicken, i sauteed the onion, green pepper & garlic. Finally, my local store was out of taco sauce so i used mild enchilada sauce. Since this was my first enchilada recipe, i may check out a different one next time to compare, but honestly these were so good i will most likely come back! PS, i did not shred the chicken like others recommended. It turned out just fine :)

Stuffed Shells III

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2014
Awesome recipe. This was my first time making stuffed shells and I think I did a pretty darn good job! The only thing that I did different was using less salt (1 teaspoon) and I added garlic and onion powder to the filling which made it taste wonderful. Next time, I'm not going to add the mozzarella cheese to the sauce mixture. It made a very thick "sauce" if that's what you can call it. It was hard to entirely cover the shells. Next time I will just mix the Parmesan cheese and sauce then sprinkle mozzarella on the final product. Also, I used a 11x15 pan and still couldn't fit all of the shells in it. I ran out of filling before all of the shells were filled but this was my fault since I stuffed them alot :) I'm just saying that you will most likely need a bigger pan than a 9x13.

Taco Salad I

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2014
This is a GREAT recipe. I'll be honest, I was skeptical about the French dressing, but it turned out great and made for a great salad! The only thing I did differently was use less dressing (not by much.. i used 3/4 of the dressing rather than all) This salad is extremely filling! We both made a HUGE salad and couldn't finish it. I had some of the meat mixture left over and used it as a filling for soft tacos. I put the filling in the tortilla then added shredded cheese & sour cream... amazing leftover lunch :)

Slow Cooker Lemon Garlic Chicken II

Reviewed: Oct. 16, 2014
Great, simple recipe. I took suggestions of the reviews and doubled the sauce because I was serving it over pasta. I also used chicken broth rather than water and bouillon cube. Also, I dont own anything to squeeze lemons so I bought 100% lemon juice at the store and used this. I also took the suggestion of the video and added garlic powder to the chicken rub. This recipe turned out GREAT! I loved the seasoning on the chicken.. I may have to continue using that. Some reviews so not to cook it first but honestly this is how the chicken becomes AMAZINGLY flavorful. We really enjoyed this meal.

Pineapple Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 23, 2014
I found this recipe to be okay. I did have to change it up a bit though. First, I cut up the chicken into bites. Second, I found out at the last minute that I didnt have dry onion soup mix.. im sure it would have tasted better that way. I seasoned my chicken with salt, pepper, onion & garlic powder. I also cut up a green pepper and added it to the simmering mix. Per reviews, I saved the pineapple juice from the can which equaled almost one cup. I added half a cup of water to that and put it in the skillet. Also, I mixed in some low sodium soy sauce. Lastly, I used manadarin oranges. I served this over brown rice. The sauce wasn't thick and I didnt have corn starch to thicken. I basically created an entire new recipe but still used this as my base and cooking times. This was an easy recipe, but the chicken was bland, even with the spices that i added.

Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2014
My roast was only 3-4 lbs (only the 2 of us) I read through the reviews and took ideas from each :) I kept the water the same but only used 1 can of cream/mushroom soup and mixed with the water. To that mix I added 3 tsp of Worchershire sauce & a packet of dry onion soup mix. I put the sauce in the slow cooker then added roast. I layered the roast up with garlic powder, onion powder & pepper. Finally, I added one beef boulian cube. About 4 hours before serving, i added carrots & potatoes. PERFECT. (the gravy may be too thin.. just add some flour!) I told my fiance the original recipe & my changes. He referred to it as a signature dish & said it reminded him of his dear mother's pot roast. She is in heaven now. Try my tips you wont be disappointed!! PS- my slow cooker is a 4qt
