Mini Frittatas

Reviewed: Sep. 9, 2004
This recipe is a HUGE hit with our family. Everyone loves when I make these. I usually use chedder and blue cheese (I don't care for ricotta) and I add salsa and garlic into the mix. Sounds a little odd but it comes out tasting delicious!

Fish Chowder

Reviewed: Apr. 17, 2011
This was my first time making fish chowder and this recipe came out great! I used low sodium broth to make up for the very salty clam juice. I think next time I might just use 1 cup evaporated milk and maybe 3 cups potatoes. I topped with turkey bacon and used a little hot sauce. Delicious!

Fantastic! Like some others I used only whole wheat flour and I added an extra tsp baking powder. TFTR!

Quick and Easy Pizza Crust

Reviewed: Aug. 15, 2009
I love this recipe! It's so simple that now I make pizza all the time. My secret to making this crust even better: I substitute garbanzo bean flour for 1/2 c of the regular flour. It makes it just a little bit heartier and textured. Thanks!

Made this for a fondue party and it was everyone's favorite. I served it with cut up fresh veggies and it was perfect. Thanks!

Glen's Cheese Sauce

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2007
I really love this sauce, especially for broccoli and cheese baked potatoes. I've also used it to make mac & cheese, or added some hot sauce to make a tortilla dip. Wonderful! My only real change is I do usually add twice as much cheese as what it calls for.

Garbanzo Bean Chocolate Cake (Gluten Free!)

Reviewed: Apr. 17, 2011
I don't have a problem with gluten but I'm pregnant and trying to get extra protein/flour. As everyone else has said, this cake is amazing! You simply cannot believe you're eating beans and not flour! I only added 1/3 c sugar and that was plenty sweet.

Candied Sweet Potatoes

Reviewed: Apr. 2, 2005
Since, I've become the primary holiday cook in my family, I've been trying and trying to find a sweet potato recipe that will satisfy everyone. I think I've finally found it. :) As others have suggested, I used less butter(instead of margarine) and sugar, and I also added ginger along with the other spices. This recipe is amazingly easy and tastes delicious. It's perfect for large holiday meals because the time and temperature it cooks at don't have to be exact. Thanks!

Roast Pumpkin and Feta Risotto

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2005
Wow! This was absolutely delicious and so beautiful to present as well. (I served it in a pumpkin half I had hollowed out). It was a very unexpected combination. I added sauteed red bell peppers to add even more taste and color.

Special Deviled Eggs

Reviewed: Apr. 2, 2005
Wow! The horseradish really makes the eggs delicious! I used green onion instead of just onion, added a dash of worchestershier sauce, and left out the pickle relish all together. They were the bet deviled eggs I've ever had. Thanks for the recipe!

Hot Irish Whiskey

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2009
I had this when I was under the weather in Dublin and it really seems to work. I tried this recipe at home when I had an ear infection and after a couple of glasses, at least I wasn't in pain anymore, and I actually did feel better in the morning. I'm firmly in the leave out the sugar camp of the Hot Irish Whiskey devotees, and I also add some extra lemon juice. Thanks!

Tempeh Reuben

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2007
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! There are very few things I miss from the land of meat-eating, but reubens are one of them. I rushed home to make this after I found this recipe and was not disappointed. If anything, I found these sandwiches even tastier than the orignal!

Sauerkraut Soup I

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2010
Fantastic! I was looking for a 'veggie' alternative to the traditional New Year's pork and sauerkraut and this is definately it! I ended up adding an extra quart of water and it was still plenty thick. I didn't have dried mushrooms so I added 2 TB of mushroom boulion base to the soup and then sauteed fresh mushrooms with the onions. Thanks for the recipe!

French Onion Soup with Celeriac

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2005
I love this soup and the celeriac really makes it something different! I use only beef broth and put fresh parsley in. I also cut the onions into long thin strips before sauteing which gives the soup a great texture! This has become my standard soup to make when someone's sick, since the garlic (I put a whole head in) and onions make great immune boosters!

Asparagus Quiche

Reviewed: Apr. 2, 2005
A wonderful recipe! I didn't use bacon, added cooked onions instead. Also, when I make quiche I like to line the bottom and sides of the crust with the cheese instead of mixing it in or putting it on top. I like the texture this gives it. Finally, I used deep dish pie crusts, so I found it was necessary to add an etra egg and 1/3 cup half and half.

A little bland and lacking in texture. I added ginger and we ate it with bagel chips. Otherwise it was good and very healthy. :)

Best Guacamole

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2007
Good basic recipe! With the price of avacadoes being what it is, I like to add a little sour cream to stretch it. I also add crushed garlic and cilantro for flavor.
