About this Cook
I love to try new recipes so this site is perfect! I am a busy mom with two children and work out of the home so sometimes cooking dinner has to be quick. When I have extra time I love to read any type of book or power walk. I am active in service organizations and my children's activities.
My favorite things to cook
I like to cook different pasta dishes or try recipes that have an interesting mix of ingredients. I do some baking but that is not my strength.
My favorite family cooking traditions
With our scandanavian backgrounds, a good hotdish is a must in the winter. My kids will eat anything so when we have a free evening, we will cook some pretty fantastic dinners to enjoy with wine/grape juice and candlelight...just for fun.
My cooking triumphs
If I can master baking breads, it would be a huge triumph.
My cooking tragedies
Baking....cookies, breads, cakes. I just really have problems with baking. Cooking is fine, baking is a challenge.

Resurrection Rolls
My children and their cousins had a great time with these. It was a good lesson on the empty tomb as the first thing they said when eating was "Were is the marshmallow". I also omitted the sugar and used two triangles and wrapped around one marshmallow. Will definetly make this an Easter tradition! Thank you.

Slow Cooker Chicken with Mushroom Wine Sauce
I made slight variations to the recipe such as chopped onion and 1 glove minced garlic. I also did not add the mushrooms as I didn't have any in the pantry. The soup had a good amount of chopped mushroom so didn't miss. Cooked the frozen breasts on low for 5.5 hours and they were perfect. My family that the chicken was very good. Thanks.

Basic Microwave Risotto
Excellent...I had to use beef broth and red wine and it was very good. My daughter called it gourmet! Thanks.
