Ranch Oyster Crackers

Reviewed: Mar. 7, 2006
very salty, you need to increase the oil to 1/2 cup. I used ritz crackers, low sodium kind. mix these very well! not too oily with the increased amount.

Creamy Spiced Coleslaw

Reviewed: Mar. 7, 2006
this dressing is okay, it needs some extra salt for flavor, I used regular vinegar, and I think it would be better with the cider vinegar.I never use mayo as it is very bland. try miracle whip or equivalent.

MMMMM... Brownies

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2006
just okay. not the best I have ever tasted.I was looking for a really tasty and chewy brownie recipe for my kids. this one is chewy and definitely needs a frosting to enhance the flavor of the brownie. I doubled the recipes and used 3 eggs only. well... my kids ate it up, but think I will try another recipe next time.

Creamy Cheesecake

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2006
this is certainly a creamy dessert, and soooo easy to prepare. I made my own graham cracker crust and used chocolate cream cheese. my daughter said it tasted like a pudding and not a cheesecake. I am not sure if it was the chocolate cream cheese or her "picky" taste. anyhow it was lovely, will make again for sure.

Out of this World Turkey Brine

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2006
this was the first turkey I put in brine. I let it set two days, used a frozen turkey, about 20 lbs. I added an extra half of this recipe to cover it completely.I put it in a large clean pail/bucket, covered it and put it in the garage(34-35 degrees F. in the garage,) the weather was perfect. when cooked, it was flavorful and really nice. my husband even commented on the difference. will try with chicken sometime. A+++++

delicious and very filling. I used a mix of cheddar and mozza cheese instead of gouda, and it went over well at suppertime.

Fudge Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2006
this is a lovely, smooth sauce. it is really good with a slice of white cake or over ice cream. I left out the cinnamon, but I am sure it would be just as tasty. easy to assemble and keeps a long time in the fridge.served it during the holidays.

Banana Banana Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2006
I have made this recipe twice, and both times it did not bake completely inside. I tried adjusting the oven temp. the second time, doesn't work. there is simply too much banana in this one.Sorry, but will have to stick with my other recipes.Perhaps, divide batter between two pans??

Zucchini Chocolate Orange Cake

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2005
I made this cake today and it turned out very, very moist, almost to the point of being gooey. If I were to make this again, I would decrease the amount of zucchini to two cups. Also I left out the orange zest and doubled the amount of cinnamon, as we love that stuff!! The cooking time was about fifeteen minutes longer in my oven, than what the recipe stated. When cooled ,I put chocolate icing with cinnamon in it. It is a tasty cake and a good use of your garden zucchini. It is just a little too gooey for us.
