Easy Gravy

Reviewed: May 5, 2005
This gravy wasn't what I was looking for. It tasted too flour-y, and I'm not sure why. I did add mushrooms which gave it a bit of interest.

Brooke's Best Bombshell Brownies

Reviewed: Mar. 7, 2008
I cooked these with the 1/2 brown sugar suggestion, plus I included a cream cheese/kahlua mixture on top, and they were so good! For the cream cheese mixture I used 8 oz cream cheese and 5tbsp butter at room temperature, beaten together with one egg, 1/4 cup sugar, 1tbsp kahlua, and 1/2 tbsp of vanilla. Then just poor on top of brownie batter in pan and swirl in with a knife. They are fabulous!!!

Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2008
These are SO GOOD! The only changes I make are: I use margarine instead of butter, I omit the nuts (I just don't like nuts), and I use milk chocolate chips instead of semi-sweet. I usually add in other types of chips as well. I generally make a sheet or two with just milk chocolate, then add peanut butter chips and make another sheet or two, then add white chocolate chips. YUMMY!

Decorator Frosting

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2008
I made this recipe to decorate a chocolate chip cookie cake. I added a bit of almond extract for flavor, and teal food coloring instead :) Worked out great, and tastes good!

Lime Fish Tacos

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2008
These were fabulous! We have a lot of frozen fresh snapper that we caught over the summer and I've started looking up some recipes to use it in. This was the first one I tried, but I think it will remain my favorite! I took the advice of the reviewers here and changed just a little bit with the sauce. I doubled everything, and we went through all of the sauce. I added a little bit of salt, and probably about 1/2 tablespoon of onion powder, as well as about 1/2 teaspoon of cilantro. I also upped the hot sauce a bit (it still was not spicy even with the addition). We stuck with just putting tomatoes and lettuce on the burrito. We also used low-carb wheat burritos, and they were SO good! My dad told me three or four times how good they were, and he was really skeptical to try them! Everyone thought they were fabulous and we will be making them again soon! Thanks so much for the recipe!

Spinach Muenster Quiche

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2008
This was a hit! I cut down the Munester cheese by about half. Next time, I think I'll leave it off the bottom too. I am looking at a lot of low-carb recipes because my mom needs low-carbs, but I am a vegetarian who is somewhat lactose-intolerant so we are having trouble finding things that works for both of us and pleases the picky males in the house. This one was a hit! I got compliments from everyone in the family. Will definitely be making again, and soon!

Grandma's Green Bean Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2008
Very good flavor, however, I would either increase the green beans or decrease the sauce. It was too soupy and the sauce, while it had a great flavor, was overpowering. I will definitely make it again, with adjustments!
