Very good, very beautiful glaze. No need to change a thing. This glaze is awesome on Too Much Chocolate Cake on this site.

Good New Orleans Creole Gumbo

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2012
Good heavens above!! This recipe was awesome!! I halved the recipe and it was PLENTY for us (it was just 3 of us and we have leftovers for tonight's dinner). This is not cheap to make and it is time consuming but well, WELL worth it. I did make rice to go with it but left it on the side so we could add as little or as much as we wanted. When I first read this recipe, I did not have bacon grease and I wondered if it was necessary. Let me go ahead and say YES it is necessary. Don't skip this step. Do not change a thing...whatever you do will not do this recipe justice. I can't say enough about it. AWESOME!

Peppermint Meringues

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2011
The only hard part about this is the cooking time. Very easy and light. I did add peppermint extract to the egg whites after they were whipped. I cannot imagine NOT adding this extra step. Also, remember not to put these on the same plate as other goodies. They will absorb all the moisture from the other goodies and become gummy (which is not good). These need to be by themselves. Awesome recipe and will make again.

Amish Breakfast Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2011
I make a breakfast casserole every Christmas. You know what I'm talking about, your typical egg and sausage overnight casserole. I wanted something a little different this Christmas. This was different but not very good in my option. I personally thought there were too many potatoes in this casserole causing it to be a little dry (I know what you're thinking, TOO MANY POTATOES??!! WHAT??!!) But yes, even I thought it was too much. I don't think I will be cooking this one again. Sorry folks.

Toll House® White Chip Chocolate Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2011
I wasn't crazy about these cookies. In fact, I don't think I will make these again. They were not moist and the flavor was lacking. There are a million other cookie recipes out there like this one and I think I would try one of them first. Sorry for the bad review and I could have done something wrong but....

Pumpkin Cheesecake II

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2011
I make alot of cheesecakes. So, I like to think of myself as a cheesecake connoisseaur. :0) Let me say this first: do not let the ingredients overwhelm you. It's not as bad as you think. Now let me say, this is truly one of the best cheesecakes I have EVER made. It didn't crack and it held it's shape well. Also, it had an EXCELLENT flavor. My husband doesn't like pumpkin and he liked this. I did change a few things. Instead of pecans, I used walnuts. No reason for this other than personal preference. Also, I used ginger snaps instead of graham crackers. I am REALLY glad I did this. It gave the cheesecake a completely different flavor. Instead of mace, I used nutmeg. And doubled the vanilla extract and did not use lemon extract. And, of course, I put it in a water bath. With the leftover whipping cream, I made a cinnamon whipped cream. BEAUTIFUL AND FABULOUS!!

Moist Sour Cream Coffee Cake

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2011
Great coffee cake! Loved it! The only thing I changed was the filling. The recipe stated to start with the filling first. Then, add some batter then the filling and then end with batter. I didn't do this and I am glad I didn't. I put all the filling in the center. I can see where the filling would stick to the pan if you did it as the recipe stated. Also, word of warning. I used a budt pan. When I put the batter in the pan, I was concerned that the cake was going to be very small because it appeared there wasn't enough batter. Do not fret! This was more than enough and it was beautiful!

Breakfast Pies

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2011
These are great! The only thing I modified was the measurements. I used a whole pound of sausage just because that is what I had. I also used grands biscuits; again, because that is what I had. I only used half of each biscuit due to the size and I am so glad I did. MAKE SURE you place a pan under your muffin pan because these can and will spill over and it will SMELL terrible. Due to the extra sausage, I added one more egg and one more tablespoon of milk because I wanted to use all my sausage up. The best thing about this recipe is you can make it ahead of time and refrigerate it. The next morning, stick in the mircrowave for a 15-30 seconds. Grab it and run out the door. You have a hot, good breakfast while driving down the road! Great start for the day for kids too!

Kentucky Butter Cake

Reviewed: Aug. 7, 2011
I made exactly as stated except I creamed together the butter and sugar in the beginning. Then, I added the eggs and flavoring. Then, alternated the dry ingredients and buttermilk. Do not let the batter fool you. Mine looked like a pound cake batter. I do have a suggestion though...if you are making this for family or where presentation does not matter, I would bake this in a 9x13. The "goo" that you put in top will soak in better and not leave a huge mess. I baked mine in a bundt pan and I used a skewer to poke holes (and I poked ALOT of holes). I didn't think a skewer was large enough. Some have said they double the glaze recipe...I do not think that is necessary. This cake with the glaze is VERY sweet. I think it you doubled it, you wouldn't be able to eat it. Overall very good but very sweet.

Zucchini Patties

Reviewed: Aug. 7, 2011
Okay, I will be the first to say that maybe I did something wrong. It was just okay to me. Now, my husband LOVED them. He said they tasted like fried squash. I think frying squash is easier and less mess. I would love to give a suggestion but I don't one. Like I said, they were fine just not for me.

Asian Glazed Chicken Thighs

Reviewed: Jul. 12, 2011
I didn't care for this. I did follow the directions as stated. I didn't think it was too spicy as the others stated. Also, this didn't reduce like I thought it should have. The chicken was very pretty coming out of the oven. I can't really add anything to do to make it better. Maybe it was just my tastebuds.

All American Trifle

Reviewed: Jul. 4, 2011
I have not sat down to take a bite but I have tasted all the components to this recipe. And all components are fantastic. I will say, I have a trifle bowl that has a stand on the bottom (I hope that makes sense). Therefore, it is not one big glass bowl. Because of this, I do not think you will need 3 lbs of strawberries. 2lbs in my case would have been plenty. Same with the pound cake. One would have been enough (I made my own so I knew I would have leftovers). Also, I did not use the rum. I think it would have added a really nice touch but I didn't have any and I am serving this to kids as well. Overall, really nice.

Easy Batter Fruit Cobbler

Reviewed: Jun. 3, 2011
This is not a bad recipe. It was just okay. The only thing I changed in this recipe was added cinnamon. I cannot imagine NOT adding the cinnamon. It was very cake like and not very cobbler like. Don't get me wrong, it was good and we ate it but this is not what I was expecting.

Monkey Bread I

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2011
I love this! So simple! I use the can biscuit dough by Pillsbury that is simple ingredients (sorry I can't remember the exact name but it's a white can). When I make this, no one knows it's canned biscuit dough. Also, I cut the biscuits with a pizza cutter. Super simple and quick. Also, some people have had issues with burns. People, this recipe has hot, molten sugar that you pour over the top of biscuit dough. If you are on here I assume that you, at the very least, have an interest in cooking; therefore, you know it involves a hot oven with hot ingredients. All sarcasm aside, if you are careful then you won't get burned. My Monkey Bread has never spilled over in the oven, but again, I prepare that it might. So, I put a separate pan under my Bundt pan to catch any spills I might have. I do everything exactly as the recipe states and everyone LOVES it. I can't say enough about it.
