Apple Squares

wow, how delicious! i mixed this up in the same saucepan with the melted butter/sugars (be sure to temper the egg). i also used chopped dried apples instead of the fresh variety & added 1/2 cup of currants. many thanks for this keeper barbi-ann!

Cod with Italian Crumb Topping

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2008
this recipe tasted pretty good however we thought the topping seemed dry. next time i'll drizzle a little melted butter over top before serving. okay with tilapia instead of cod. thanks d.k.!

Ginger Snaps II

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2007
i think the flavor of these cookies is nice but we wanted a crunchier outer texture. baking them a few extra minutes really didn't make them crisp up....which is what we hoped for. thanks anyways sherry.

Classic Bran Muffins

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2007
i made this recipe with raisin bran, picking out the raisins & (briefly) rehydrating them in hot water. the muffins are healthy & taste good but we thought they were a tad bit on the dry side. thanks janet.

Favorite Barbecue Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 27, 2007
excellent! i made 1.5 times the amount of sauce to make sure we had enough for 3 large boneless breasts. the barbeque flavor is just about perfect where it is however you can get it where you like by increasing the cider vinegar a notch for tartness or increase the brown sugar a tad for a sweetness. many thanks amanda!

Walnut-Tarragon Chicken Tenders

Reviewed: Aug. 27, 2007
mmmmmmm, we thought this recipe was srumptious! i used real chicken tenders (instead of slicing a boneless breast) & whole milk. the subtle tarragon flavor along with a nutty breading are also nice features. this dish served well with corn on the cob & potato salad. thank you dusty!

Scalloped Potatoes for the BBQ

i made delicious dish as directed with the lone exception of coating the aluminum foil with an olive oil spray. i specificly made a "leftover pouch" which was kept unopened until the next night. fresh basil is a must for the yummy taste & eye appeal. many thanks pricilla!

these are pretty good pancakes. no changes made aside from substituting 1/2 cup of the all-purpose flour with whole wheat flour. blending makes these pancakes light plus there's an easy clean up. thanks amber!

yum, we really enjoyed this recipe! no changes were made aside from cutting my potatoes into eighth & using an entire small onion. i also combined all of the ingredients in a bowl for a good coating before spreading the potatoes out on a baking sheet. many thanks stephanie!

Awesome Baked Sea Scallops

Reviewed: Jul. 24, 2007
i made this yummy dish as directed with the exception of omitting the parsley & lemon. we thought the scallops were very tasty however would've preferred the topping (i used panko bread crumbs) to have a drier texture. i reheated 4 leftover scallops the next day & found them to be just as good as when they were fresh baked. thanks christine!

Grilled Onion Blossom

Reviewed: Jul. 3, 2007
yummy! i made this with 2 medium vidalia onions cut into 6 wedges, a clove of chopped garlic (instead of garlic salt) & added a sprinkle of seasoned salt to boot. these are simple to make & there's a nice presentation value too. our grilled onion blossoms, wrapped in heavy duty foil, were tender in 35 minutes. thank you johnna!
