Ali's Amazing Bruschetta

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2004
I brought this to a party and it was a huge hit. I took the advice of others and brushed it with olive oil and garlic, fantastic. I also used the leftover mixture to top a steak the next day and it was wonderful as well

Roast Leg of Lamb with Rosemary

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2004
I served this for Chanukkah dinner and it was a huge sucsess. I substituted orange zest for lemon only because I do not like lemon and used dreied rosemary. Everyone thought it was delicious I will make this again.

Cousin David's Slow Cooker Brisket

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2006
This was a very good recipe. I used a can of cranberry sause instead of chile sauce because thats what I had and it came out delicious. I also layed thick sliced onion rings at the bottom of the cooker for a little more flavor. It smelled great all day. I searved it with mashed potatoes and salad, it was perfect.

Salsa Cube Steaks

Reviewed: May 11, 2006
This was very tasty.I used mild salsa. It definately has a zing though. We had it over rice. It was a hit with adults, it had a bit too much spice for the kids. I will make this again.

Hamantashen

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2007
These were yummy. I rolled them a bit thinner and really had to pinch the dough well for it to stay in shape. I also reduced the temp and baked at 350 degrees for 15 mins. I will make these every Purim, they were fun.

Matzo Apple Kugel

This is a wonderful kugel. I have been making it for years. I always have an interfaith seder and even the non-jewish participants liked it and asked for the recipe. I highly recomend this dish.

Easy Hamantaschen

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2010
These turned out wonderful. I did not refrigerate the dough first and it all held together well. My children are picky and these went well. I'm going to try using brownie mix as the filling in my next batch (like in another recipe, Hamentashen w/ brownie filling, from this site). We liked the texture and taste of this batter, so I'm going to play with fillings. I used blueberry for some and raspberry for some so far. Thank you this is an easy recipe.

Slow Cooker Sweet and Tangy Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2010
This did not go over well in my family. It had an acidy taste. The only thing I left out was the green pepper because I didn't have any, but I don't think that would have made it a whole lot different. I also think it was too much onion. I will have to tweak it and find a taste that we might like but I will not be making this again in it's current form.

Baked Rice Pudding

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2010
I loved this. It is just like the rice pudding my mom used to make. I did add a teaspoon of cinnamon to the mix and added 2 tbsp of melted butter and 1/4 cup additional sugar (as someone else suggested) added the nutmeg in with everything else and then followed the recipe on baking times. Fabulous.

This was very a moist yummy bread. I substituted cranraisins for the walnuts because nuts are not a big hit with my family. Other than that I did it exactly how it was written. Very good bread

Hamentashen with Brownie Filling

Reviewed: Mar. 25, 2010
These were very good, just make sure you don't put too much brownie mix in...they explode. The kids liked that though, gave them more brownie.

Cracker Candy

Reviewed: Apr. 9, 2010
I have this as a passover recipe. We call it chocolate covered matzo. everything is the same only using matzo as the "cracker" Definately use brown sugar, and if you like a more molassas taste, go with dark brown sugar instead of light. I generally use the light brown sugar with semi sweet chocolate chips. I get requests all the time for this recipe, yummy stuff.
