Delicious Matzo Candy

I've been making this recipe for years, just as many others have. It is always requested, we call it chocolate matzo bark. Whatever you call it, make it, it is yummy.

Blueberry Scones

The first time I made these I thought they were good. I did not have half and half so I used liquid coffe creamer(even though I liked it I would not recommend it, I had to add extra flour)The second time I made these I still did not have half and half but I had cream, all I can say is AWESOME. It made a world of difference and was delicious! I will definately make these again. Someday I will try with half and half.

Peach-a-Berry Pie

This pie has a good flavor, next time I may lessen the sugar but my husband liked it alot. I think next time I will double the cornstarch (I like it better than flour) to make it less runny. If it were less runny it would have gotten more stars.

Passover Rolls I

Magic Lemon Pie

This is a good pie, not very lemony made with pre packaged lemon juice. Perfect for someone who wants a sweeter not tart at all lemon pie. Next time I will choose real lemons and less sugar for the meringue (I doubled the egg whites for the meringue as other suggested).

Chocolate Lovers' Favorite Cake

This was a huge hit at Thanksgiving. Everyone young and old loved it. I did not change a thing, and I don't think there is anything you could do to make it better. I will definately make this again.

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

This was awesome. I've been trying to find a recipe like the one my grandfather used to make and this comes darn close. I will definately make this one again. I used macintosh apples, yum yum yum. I did not use the lattes, I poured the syrup over the apples and then saved a little to brush on the top crust. It was wonderful pie.

Onion Rice

I liked it. It is very basic but goes well as a side. We had it with ham and it was a nice subtle dish. It could easily be made into a main dish if the meat were added to it with some broccoli, and tomatos and garlic. You could have fun with this and add almost anything to it and come up with a yummy dish. I think maybe next time I will try sausage added to it.

Peach Pie the Old Fashioned Two Crust Way

I did this exactly as written except for I did not have enough peaches (the first time) so I added frozen blueberrys to the mix. That made it to runny. The second time I made this I had enough peaches and I used corn stach instead of flour, it came out beautiful, not runny, set up nicely and had a wonderful flavor. I especially like brushing the crust with the egg, I think that makes a world of difference. I will definately be making this again.

Oatmeal Banana Cupcakes

I just made these and I like them. I gave it only 4 stars because my muffin loving daughter said they were too oatmeally. They do have that texture but they are yummy. I added 1 tsp of vanilla and 1 tsp of cinnamon as others had suggested. I also cut the honey to 1/2 cup and the salt to just a dash. next time I might add choc. chips to mix things up. I used 1 big muffin tin and 1 reg. muffin tin. The big one came out in about 23 min. the reg. one was 18 mins. no burning just perfect.

Sweet Banana Bread

This is a very plain tasting banana bread. I is not extreamly sweet and is not as dense as you would think banana bread should be. A good tasting bread but not special. I think if you add some vanilla and maybe some sour cream, a little more sugar and some cinnamon, it could be 5 stars. I'm going to try my tweeks and let you all know.

Cracker Candy

I have this as a passover recipe. We call it chocolate covered matzo. everything is the same only using matzo as the "cracker" Definately use brown sugar, and if you like a more molassas taste, go with dark brown sugar instead of light. I generally use the light brown sugar with semi sweet chocolate chips. I get requests all the time for this recipe, yummy stuff.

Fresh Pear Bread

This was very a moist yummy bread. I substituted cranraisins for the walnuts because nuts are not a big hit with my family. Other than that I did it exactly how it was written. Very good bread

Baked Rice Pudding

I loved this. It is just like the rice pudding my mom used to make. I did add a teaspoon of cinnamon to the mix and added 2 tbsp of melted butter and 1/4 cup additional sugar (as someone else suggested) added the nutmeg in with everything else and then followed the recipe on baking times. Fabulous.

Slow Cooker Sweet and Tangy Chicken

This did not go over well in my family. It had an acidy taste. The only thing I left out was the green pepper because I didn't have any, but I don't think that would have made it a whole lot different. I also think it was too much onion. I will have to tweak it and find a taste that we might like but I will not be making this again in it's current form.
