Grilled Lamb with Brown Sugar Glaze

Reviewed: May 20, 2004
This was not really to my liking, too sweet and didn't lilke the tarragon although I found it OK. However my Mother said it was really nice so that's why I gave it 4 stars.

Savory Spinach Casserole

Reviewed: May 19, 2004
I would have used more milk as the cream cheese was a bit gluggy and sat thickly on top. If I make it again I will take the advice I have seen and mix the creanm cheese in with the spinach before putting in the baking dish.

Apricot Honey Glazed Carrots

Reviewed: May 19, 2004
I think I would use less apricot nectar if I made it again. It was very sweet.

Tender Onion Baked Chicken

Reviewed: May 19, 2004
This was way too salty, I used the whole sachet of french onion soup, if I make it again I will only use a light covering of the soup mix.

Sesame Beef

Reviewed: May 18, 2004
I used sirloin and rib eye steak so the meat was really tender, the marinade was really tasty. Enjoyed it.

Aimee's Quick Chicken

Reviewed: May 17, 2004
This one was really good. I was a bit wary about the combination of ingredients but it came out really well. The chicken had great flavour and was very moist.

Teri Tips

This recipe was not to my taste, I found the sauce too strong and sweet. It was OK.

Breaded Chicken Fingers

Reviewed: May 14, 2004
I used chicken tenderloins, which were great. The chicken was very moist with a little bit of a garlic flavour.

Tasty Green Beans

Reviewed: May 13, 2004
Not too sure about this recipe, the end flavour was quite good, but it was a bit messy. I kept having to put a little water in the pan so that the beans would cook. Eventually when they cooked I put the oil in and the end result was that the onion and garlic flavours disappeared and just tasted like burnt bits.

Buttery Cooked Carrots

Reviewed: May 13, 2004
Have never eaten carrots like this before. It's just like carrot lollies. Very nice, but not really like eating vegetables.

Rosemary Marinated Lamb Chops

Reviewed: May 13, 2004
These were surprisingly good, I don't like to use a lot of dried herbs, prefer fresh, but the flavour was good. Next time though I will use fresh herbs and see what it's like. Also there wasn't enough marinade so will double the quantity. I had to add more orange juice at the end to make the sauce.

This was very tasty, liked the sesame seeds, I didn't use sesame oil, just olive oil and it was fine.

Garlicky Potatoes

Reviewed: May 12, 2004
Good flavours, although the cream and sour cream made the mash a bit too gluggy for me. I dsidn't use the chicken stock though, I just boiled in water so that might have made a difference.

Salt and Vinegar Chicken

Reviewed: May 12, 2004
This was realy good, I only marinated it for about an hour and a half. The marinade smelled really tangy, so I thought that the chicken might be a bit too much, but it was very subtle. And the skin went nice and crunchy. Really good, although I might marinate a bit longer next time.

Yogurt Chicken

Reviewed: May 10, 2004
Great recipe. Very lemony and moist. As per previous advice, I marinated the chicken in the yoghurt (which I also added fresh crushed garlic too) for a few hours. I think this made it extra flavourful.

Sweet and Sour Chicken II

Reviewed: May 7, 2004
I wasn't that keen on it due to not really being a fan of sweet and sour sauce. However, I cooked it for my Mother, and she said it was very good. It wasn't too strong and had an authentic flavour.

Beef Paprika

Reviewed: May 6, 2004
The sauce was really rich, very tomatoey. I didn't use the brown sugar, which I probably should've since it would have added another dimension. I served with potato bake, but should have made rice, as it would have helped to have something bland to soak up the very rich sauce.

Creamy Mushrooms

Reviewed: May 5, 2004
I put in more worcestershire sauce than the recipe called for because it seemed a little bland. I think it needs something else, I sprinkled some chicken salt on it, but maybe a little garlic might be good.
