Holland Boterkoek

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2013
So tasty and easy to whip up! ActuallyThis is exactly the same boterkoek recipe I inherited from my mom, EXCEPT to give it a nice top "coating", you are supposed to reserve a small amount of the beaten egg to lightly brush on top of the boterkoek before putting it in the oven. If you like, you can also add slivered almonds sprinkled on top.

Broccoli Cheese Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2013
I loved this recipe, very basic and easy and quick in my opinion. I have to admit I made some changes, I added Kraft Singles Slices for the cheese instead because that's what I had on hand. I also added salt, pepper, thyme and rosemary to taste. I also threw it in the blender after it was all cooked, then I returned the pureed soup to the pot and added some small chunks of ham. Hubby loved it :)

Smoky Grilled Pork Chops

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2013
This rub makes meat so flavourful! I've also used it on chicken breast and steak, tastes fantastic! Love the use of liquid smoke. So simple and easy to make and it doesn't need much time for the meat to soak up the flavour. Thank you for sharing this recipe, it was my summer grilling staple!

Lemon Crumb Muffins Recipe

Reviewed: Aug. 13, 2013
I loved this recipe. I made a recipe for 15 muffins. Not the healthiest muffin but we all need some indulgence from time to time. But just to feel less guilty, I did substitute half of the flour for whole wheat flour and I used fat free sour cream. I don't think I had enough lemon zest on hand but used what I had and they turned out moist and full of lemony deliciousness :)

Molasses Cookies II

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2013
These were the perfect molasses cookie for my hubby and I. I made a few changes though that another reviewer suggested: I used 2 eggs and did not bother to roll the dough balls in sugar. I would recommend rolling the dough into balls first before chilling, because when you do, the dough gets warm and sticky (probably because I used an extra egg).

Cappuccino Muffins with Chocolate and Cranberries

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2013
I LOVED how these muffins turned out. As others said, these are cakey muffins: moist, fluffy and deliciously chocolatey! I did however tweak the recipe to my hubby's liking by removing the orange zest and cranberries and doubling the chocolate chips.I was able to make 16 large muffins from this recipe. I will definitely make these again!
