Best Ever Chocolate Cutout Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2009
Very good, they almost taste like brownies when cut thicker, which I did...more like 1/6-1/4 inch. I did add an extra egg, some vanilla, and some cinnamon. Won't do the cinnamon again, but the egg and vanilla add to it. Definitely frost them, the cocoa is almost too rich and dark without it.

Cranberry Bars

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2009
Something happened where mine didn't set up all the way, but that didn't take anything away from it. I made them for a friend, and had to fight my brother off with a stick to keep him from eating the whole pan.

Grilled Broccoli

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2009
I think it has potential to be a great recipe...apparently, my grilling skills failed. The broccoli was burnt on the ends and still raw in the middle, and the cheese just fell off into the grill. Someone help me! I love broccoli, and this sounds so good...

Mrs. Sigg's Snickerdoodles

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2009
On my first attempt, I tried to cut them into shapes like sugar cookies...apparently, snickerdoodles don't like this. Second try, I used all butter (no shortening, I think it makes cookies crumbly) and some lemon juice instead of cream of tartar (really nice flavor) and they came out perfect. I also added some nutmeg to the rolling mix.

Really tasty rub- I used it overnight, and the flavor was just wonderful. I'm going to use it anytime I make lamb.

Chicken Andouille Gumbo

Reviewed: May 2, 2004
excellent, fairly easy to make too. i added shrimp to the recipe, didn't use file powder because i couldn't find the stuff, and had to substitute hot italian sausage instead of andouille because of unavailablity (i live in podunk), and it still came out great! just as good the second day, too... edit: I have found file powder, and it helps with the thickening.
