Banana-Berry Nut Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2012
This recipe is nearly identical to a recipe that I found in my 1989 Better Homes and Gardens Cook Book! It's in the oven right now, though the cook book adds orange zest, which sounds like a perfect addition!

Taco Seasoning I

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2011
This was exactly what I was looking for when I found myself without taco seasoning on hand. Have 4 kids. Didn't want to run out just for taco seasoning, and the taco salad was already started. The spice was perfect, even for my youngest eater (1). Thanks for this lifesaver! My only suggestion is to double or triple this recipe, so that you have some on hand!!!

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2008
This was just what I was looking for when I was snowed in. I altered the recipe a bit, but only because I hardly ever measure ingredients for soup. She is absolutely correct when she says that you can add more or less of any ingredient and it still tastes great! I thought it was perfect. My husband likes his soup a little spicier (Mexican), so he added a little green salsa to his and he asked for more. Terrific recipe! I'll definately make it again. Great for when you get to the end of the ham.

No Bake Chocolate Oat Bars

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2008
To start, I did alter this recipe after reading other reviews. I used 3/4 C butter and 3/4 C peanut butter. The oatmeal topping and bottom were pretty crumbly, but this was so good. I don't know who I'm going to give these to...If I don't give them away, I'll weigh 500 lbs! This was also a super easy recipe. My 4 year old helped me, and was able to measure all of the ingredients.

Red Broccoli Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 26, 2008
I followed this recipe somewhat loosely (I didn't really measure the ingredients except the sugar and the vinegar). I used about 3/4 lb of bacon and omitted the green onions (didn't have them on hand). THIS WAS THE BOMB!!! I loved it. I will definately make it again. I have enjoyed it for breakfast, lunch and dinner!

Stuffed Sole

Reviewed: Jun. 25, 2008
This was really good. I substituted white onion for the green (none on hand), and didn't really measure the other ingredients. I had to cook and chop up some regular shrimp (what I had in the freezer). I loved the flavors together, but thought that with a little basil, the sauce would have been even better. I also added a smidge more flour to make the sauce a little thicker. Great recipe. I'll make it again.
