Super Simple Sweet Potato Dog Treats

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2012
I was looking for a way to use up my sweet potato casserole from Thanksgiving and found this. I didn't have any apple sauce on hand, so I just added extra casserole. I'm way too lazy to roll out dough and cut out shapes, so I just used a large melon baller and then flattened them out with a fork like you would for peanut butter cookies, I was able to get 42 treats doing it this way. Going to put some in a jar and freeze the rest for later. My dog just ate one and loved it. Thanks for the recipe, so easy and will now be added to the "what to do with Thanksgiving leftovers" recipes.

Alice Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 27, 2012
Wow, this was very good. I did what another reviewer suggested and used the same pan for the mushrooms that I did the bacon in, removed most of the fat first...I only had cheddar cheese, no biggie, and I used the Honey Mustard II recipe from this site (very good!). The end result was really really really good. My husband was over the moon. Thank you! ***edit to add, just a week later, that when I informed my husband that Tuesday after labor day our diet starts again, the first thing he asked was, "can you make that chicken again before we start?" So, our last meal before getting back on the diet wagon will be Alice Chicken, we plan to thoroughly enjoy it =)

Jalapeno Popper Cups

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2011
Delicious! Big hit on Thanksgiving. I doubled the recipe and I used Tostitos Scoops instead. I went light on the jalapenos because I was afraid they'd be too spicy, but they ended up not spicy enough so I put a few drops of hot sauce on each one before serving. Will definitely use the recommended amount next time. Thanks!

Fabulous. Can't go wrong with this one. I made pasta with this sauce to have on the side with steak for company recently, everyone loved it. Love the addition of spinach!

Best Spinach Dip Ever

This was really good. I prepared the recipe exactly as written, but used the whole package of spinach. I took it to a party yesterday and the bread bowl was scraped dry as a bone by the end, everyone loved it. Thanks!

Rosemary Ranch Chicken Kabobs

Reviewed: May 7, 2011
I made this last night under the broiler because our grill was out of gas....I reduced the oil by half and kept the rest of the recipe the same, using light ranch dressing. This was SO GOOD. The chicken was so tender and delicious. I used 1/2 the marinade for the chicken and 1/2 for red and green peppers, red onions and mushrooms, they turned out fabulous as well. This morning I said to my husband that it was so good we'll definitely have to try that again and his response? "Can we have it again tonight??" Thank you for a great easy recipe, it will be in my rotation all summer long =)

Aussie Chicken

This was delicious. Sadly, its incredibly horrible for my diet, so I can't see myself splurging on it more than once a year, but it is definitely tasty!

Cha Cha's White Chicken Chili

Reviewed: Mar. 4, 2011
This is so delicious! I don't use as much jalapenos as the recipe calls for and I go a little light on the cayene and it is still very spicy, but not so spicy we can't eat it. I omit the cheese because I'm on the never ending diet and you really do not miss it at all. I puree 2 of the cans of white beans because we like our chili thicker. Fabulous! I make it all of the time now. Thank you!

Peanut Butter and Banana Dog Biscuits

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2011
I just made these for our new 5 month old puppy, he LOVES them! And I feel great giving him something healthy without all the they put in the stuff in the stores... I followed the recipe exactly, thank you! Will make these again and again...I used a circle cookie cutter, but these went over so well I think I'll have to invest in a cute little bone shape cutter =)

Morning Glory Muffins I

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2011
These are really good! I just had one and I feel healthier already. I made some minor changes in an effort to make them even more healthy and diet friendly, I used 1 c white flour and 1 cup whole wheat, 1/2 cup splenda and 1/2 cup honey instead of sugar, I had craisins on hand, so I used them instead of raisins, I omitted the oil and added 1 c of unsweetened apple sauce instead of 1/2 c apple butter and last but not least, I didn't bother peeling the apple, just cored it and chopped it up. I was able to whittle this recipe down to 4 weight watchers points (for the points plus plan). Yay! What a great way to start the day, thank you!

Brown Sugar Smokies

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2010
I hate to beat a dead horse here, but these were so good! I used another reviewers advice and dredged the bacon in brown sugar before wrapping them, sprinkled with more on top and let them sit in the fridge for a few hours before I cooked them. I did them on a rack over a cookie sheet to let the grease drain and did them under the broiler, placed in the center of the oven...made the mistake of starting them too close to the broiler and wow, they started sizzling big time.... cooked about 10 mins per side, and added more brown sugar when turning. That being said, next time, I think I would let them soak in the brown sugar at least over night, you just can't use too much, they were SO GOOD. Will be making again on NYE, thanks!

Golden Yam Brownies

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2010
These are fabulous! I had some leftover sweet potato casserole from Thanksgiving, so I used 2 cups of that instead of fresh grated. Great way to use up the leftovers! My daughter, who would not touch the sweet potatoes at Thanksgiving, LOVES these. I only used 2 eggs based on another review and also less sugar because my casserole had marshmallows in it. Really good, will definitely make these again, thanks!

Awesome Sausage, Apple and Cranberry Stuffing

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2010
This stuffing was great. I went the easy route and used bagged stuffing mix, and I used pork sausage instead of turkey and ommitted the liver because I didn't have it. It came out really good, very tasty and I'll be making it every Thanksgiving from now on. Thanks!

Homestyle Turkey, the Michigander Way

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2010
This is now my official turkey day recipe! Thank you! The butter under the skin made the turkey breast so moist and flavorful...usually the turkey is my least favorite thing on the table, but not anymore, it was so good! I threw some quartered onions, a roughly chopped carrot and celery sticks in the pan with the juices. Gravy came out great with the drippings. Thanks!
