Bagel and Cheese Bake

Reviewed: Apr. 26, 2004
After reading other reviews I made some minor changes i.e. cubing the bagels & making sure there was enough liquid to cover them all. I also used fresh mushrooms, ham instead of bacon, used cheddar on top instead of parm, etc. Awesome!!!

Pizza Without the Red Sauce

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2007
Addicting! I made a large pizza (16 or 18") and we ate it all! Used homemade wheat crust, sesame seeds on edge of crust, half the garlic and only had 4 oz of feta so added some goat cheese. YUM!! My skeptical husband loved it too. Will definitely make again. Oh, make sure to use plenty of spinach as it really shrinks up in the oven.

Grecian Pork Tenderloin

O my! This is wonderful! I did not use the whole 6 Tbs. of oregano--I used about 1 1/2 Tbs. Served w/ buttered red potatoes. Yum!

The reviews are right----follow the recipe as written! This is a great recipe! Flavor is right on. No need to add or decrease anything. Thanks Jamie!

Crispy Rosemary Chicken and Fries

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2009
Used leg quarters---very moist. Cooked the chicken & potatoes on different pans, same amount of time---excellent results. Coated the chicken w/ the oil/herb mixture a couple hours before baking and would do the same (or overnight) next time---no lack of flavor.

We found half the butter spread to be just the right amount. Love 'em.

Grilled Tilapia with Mango Salsa

Reviewed: Jun. 8, 2009
THE BEST fish dish I have made! Even my husband, who doesn't really like fish, liked it. I doubled the recipe, everything except the olive oil in the marinade. I didn't even use the 1/3 cup. Can't wait to make this again! Thanks!

Country Apple Dumplings

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2010
Easy! I would never had tried this recipe due the Mt Dew plus the amount of sugar but the reviews made me! Glad I did! I used one stick of butter (plenty) and 1/2 cup white and 1/2 cup brown sugar (perfect sweetness) with Diet Mt Dew. The whole family loved these! Going into the oven there is ALOT of liquid---don't worry, coming out it has just a small amount of syrup in the bottom of the pan. Nice easy, quick apple dessert---thank you!!!

Saturday Night Supper

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2010
This isn't the style of food I normally make but we loved it. It's comfort food with an overall mellow flavor. I did add a little salt & cut back the sugar by 1/3 (and added more bacon). "8 servings?" Not in my house! Four, tops. Served w/ corn bread. Yum!

Panzanella Salad

Reviewed: May 28, 2008
Loved this!! I left out the olives & used feta instead of mozz. I thought there wouldn't be enough dressing but there is. The whole family loved this. Can't wait to make it again. Thanks!

Irish Lamb Stew

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2011
After reading through the reviews I used about half the amount of meat, switched Guinness for the wine and made it a day ahead of time. (prep time is WAY off---this is a whole afternoon project) My husband, the beef lover, said he liked this better than beef stew---that's sayin' somethin'! Served w/ Irish Soda bread from this site----excellent meal!

Kentucky Bourbon Balls

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2010
Used pecans (none on top) and followed recipe, adding only a tad more bourbon when mixing the butter and everything together. MUST be served at room temp to appreciate flavors and texture. Never had them before---love 'em! Very easy to make. I ended up w/ about 36 and did not feel like they were small.

Brick-Oven Pizza (Brooklyn Style)

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2007
Used half whole wheat flour in the dough. Used fresh tomatoes and canned--both were great. My pizza stone did not like being preheated that hot so had to do things a little different but was excellent and will make again!

Meatball Sandwich

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2010
These are great but they have way too much bread crumbs. I used a pound and a half of ground chuck and only a half cup of bread crumbs and still needed to add a little milk (almost a quarter cup) just to moisten the mixture. The mixture was quite dry but the end product was great. I made 6 sandwiches (due to the added half pound of meat) and used one jar of sauce and we felt it was the perfect sauce/meat ratio. Will definitely make again.

Tiramisu Toffee Dessert

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2010
I have had this recipe "in waiting" for a few years and finally made it this weekend. OMG---it is so easy and SO good! I didn't think mixing the whipping cream into the rest of the topping ingred. would work but it does, you just have to beat it for a few minutes (maybe 5?) Excellent! Will definitely make again.

Chicken Garlic Pizza

Reviewed: May 25, 2006
Loved it! Made a few adjustments (and completely forgot the tomatoes!)--doubled the butter mixture, used lots of fresh basil, omitted the cilantro, used grilled marinated chicken, added mushrooms and fresh mozz. I'm anxious to make this again w/ the tomatoes! Yum!

This is great. Very easy to make but it does make alot and since it's largely milk, you need to be sure to have some drinkers around!

Tangy Honey Glazed Ham

Reviewed: Apr. 17, 2006
My local grocery store smokes their own hams and they're wonderful so I was afraid of messing w/ it but wow! I'm glad I did. I had a 6 pound ham so I halved the recipe---I could have even used the whole thing because the flavor was wonderful and more would even be better! Everyone raved!
