Trpoical Paradise Cake
About this Cook
I am a Mom to 2 elementary school children. I love baking and cake decorating!
My favorite things to cook
Cakes and breads
My favorite family cooking traditions
Making Christmas goodies.
My cooking triumphs
Successfully prepping and cooking a 5 course anniversary dinner including roasted beef tenderloin by myself for my parents.
My cooking tragedies
Experimenting on making a new pasta sauce and ended up with a very unappetizing color that made noone able to eat it even though it tasted fine. Also I always seem to burn the garlic bread.

Dark Chocolate Cake I
I made this for my son's birthday the first time and now he wants it this year too. It is a wonderful tasting and moist cake. It is important to really take the time to cream the butter and sugar until it becomes fluffy and almost white in color. This will be the basis for the texture of the cake. It is also important to let the cocoa and boiling water mixture cool to room temperature before mixing up your cake. Try it. It is a super tasty and great textured cake.

Bev's Orange Chicken
I enjoyed this meal for the most part but found it a little too salty. I think next time I will use half as much onion soup mix and possibly cut back on the soya sauce. My preschoolers loved the chicken and I didn't even have leftovers. The only reason I didn't give this 4 stars was that I felt it was too salty

Absolutely Delicious Baked Root Vegetables
I just wanted to note that my original recipe called for Montreal Steak Spice which has a lot more flavor and depth than regular steak seasoning salts. If you do not have this seasoning you can make an approximation of it using 2 parts paprika, course grind balck pepper and salt to 1 part garlic powder, onion powder, crushed corriander, dill and crushed red pepper flakes.
