Spicy Sausage Skillet Breakfast

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2009
Great quick meal! I've made this a few times, and it's always a hit. I use brown rice, MorningStar Farms sausage patties (non-meat), and skip the cheese although I'm sure that makes it very good. It's also good with some sweet red pepper sauteed with the onion.

Sweet Dinner Rolls

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2009
Foolproof! I substituted 1 cup wheat flour and forgot to read the rest of the directions, but they turned out great regardless! I ate them plain, with no butter or anything because they were just so good. I'm making them again today. There's just two of us at my house, so I froze half the batch and they were in great shape when I pulled them out.

Easy Eggplant Dish

Just average. If you want to cover up the taste of your eggplant and squash with breadcrumbs and cheese, this dish is for you.

Fiery Baked Beans

Reviewed: Aug. 18, 2008
I didn't add the cinnamon, because I tasted the beans prior to baking and thought they were perfect without it. This recipe, sans cinnamon, is my new favorite beans recipe! I usually find baked beans to be too sweet, but this recipe is easy on the sugar, and the chipotle peppers add a complex smoky kick to the mix. I can't wait to take these to my family reunion...

The Best Vegetarian Chili in the World

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2008
I made some minor changes to the recipe because I didn't have everything in my pantry. I cut out the oregano because I don't like it, and cut back a little on the hot spices, but it turned out plenty spicy for my company. I did let it simmer for 2 hours and it improved even more with the extra time on the stove. It turned out chunky, hearty, and perfect for a Cleveland winter day!

Florentine Artichoke Dip

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2007
I made this dip according to the recipe, and it was very popular with my guests. I prefer a little more flavor, but I love artichokes so it was still good enough for me. I think a good romano cheese would punch it up a little, too. I served it with baguette slices and blue corn chips. Only crumbs and the baking dish were left.
