About this Cook
I just recently retired from the hospitality industry where I worked in Sales. I finally enjoy cooking. My husband and I book love to travel. Of course, Italy has been our favorite place to visit because of the wonderful food. Sicily being our very favorite. I love working in the yard and my garden. I recently just got a Part Time job in a Gourmet Kitchen/Culinary Store. So, it seems my kitchen is acquiring many new gadgets.....
My favorite things to cook
I getting into making "pasta" from scratch. Not as easy as I thought !!!! But will continue to try and get it mastered. So now my Kitchen Aid is out on the counter, always ready to be used.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Love cooking for friends. Even though I'm Italian, I always have a big St. Patrick Day's Dinner with Corned Beef & Cabbage, with Carrots and Potatoes. Of course, I make the traditional Irish Soda Bread. I love the Christmas holidays for my cookie baking. Many of the recipes I used are my mothers (Biscotti, Pizzale's and Butter Cookies). It brings back wonderful memories.
My cooking triumphs
I make a wonderful sauce with meatballs and sausage. My mother's secret ingredient is using Pork Neck Bones.
My cooking tragedies
Right now my "homemade" Pasta is still a work in progress. But I will keeping on trying.
