Country Breakfast Casserole

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2010
I've made before and it's fabulous. I'd like to make it with biscuits instead like Shamanjon's note, so do you or anyone know if I should bake the biscuits first? Or can I just put the raw dough on top and let them cook off in the oven while cooking casserole? Thanks!

Sweet and Crunchy Salad

I take the dry noodles and saute them in butter to keep them super crunchy and it is awesome. Everyone always asks for the recipe. I've added chicken/shrimp to make it more of a lunch or dinner entree, which is nice too.

Chili Dog Casserole II

Easy, tasty, budget friendly. You can use manicotti instead of tortillas (just slide the 'dogs into the tube) for a spin on it. Used turkey dogs and turkey chili to cut some fat and still comes out great.

Baked Ziti II

Really good but it got a little dry on me. I had to triple the recipe for a crowd, so maybe I made a mistake somewhere...I may try adding a smidge of half and half or milk next time.

Brown Sugar Meatloaf

Husband said it was his "favorite meatloaf ever." Brown sugar was a great touch. This will be my go-to meatloaf recipe from now on.

Roasted Garlic Scalloped Potatoes

A really good, simple recipe and a nice departure from the same "cheesey potatoes" recipe my family makes holiday after holiday.

Chuck's Favorite Mac and Cheese

Used LF CC and SC to cut some fat and it was still positively deadly. Added garlic salt b/c I can't live without it, but it didn't really need it. So easy too...don't have to mess around with a roux, etc.

Hearts of Palm Dip

Served w/pita chips and plate was licked clean. A nice "classy" (if a dip can be classy) twist to the artichoke dip you know and love but see everywhere.

Horseshoe

Reviewed: Jun. 30, 2008
Great recipe. Had an in-law in Springfield that everyone hated, but the one bright spot to going down there was the Horseshoe. If you add splashes of Worcestershire and a full bodied beer, you really get an authentic taste just like my favorite joint down there. I'm sooo not a food snob but agree w/ other comment - cheese wiz, ketchup, mustard, chipotle, mayo....NOT a horseshoe!!

Chive and Onion Yogurt and Cream Cheese Spread

Reviewed: Apr. 10, 2008
This is delicious and easy. Used whipped chive flavored cream cheese instead of fresh chives, regular plain yogurt, and added some cucumber since I was going for a Greek type appetizer, and served w/pita bread. Will make again!

Jalapeno Popper Spread

Fantastic recipe...got plenty of compliments and requests for recipe. A male co worker said it was great "manfood." Followed tip on topping with bread crumbs. If you spray that with a good dose of cooking spray it crisps up even better in the oven.

Warm Blue Cheese Dip with Garlic and Bacon

Sheer laziness compels me to buy pre-cooked bacon and nuke the garlic in oil for a minute, and it STILL comes out fantastic. Fantastic recipe, plain and simple.

Provolone Onion Dip

People liked it - I thought it was a bit mayonnaise-ey. I'll definitely try it again, and maybe throw in some sour cream or cream cheese to cut the taste.

Chicken Wing Dip

Super easy, everyone asked me for recipe and now everyone I know brings it to parties. Subbed blue cheese dressing for the ranch, and I've used breaded chicken too when I can't find regular pre-cooked chix. Still always comes out great.

These were great...everyone was impressed. I added feta cheese and garlic salt to the cream cheese as a few reviews said they were a little bland as is. Got tons of compliments and they went fast. Will make again.

Party Pinwheels

Very very good. I made it for husband's work pot luck. I added extra block of cream cheese (based on what was said regarding saltiness) to cut salt and to have extras. I nuked the tortillas for 10 secs. first to help with pliability, because you can't be shy about rolling these babies up tight!
