About this Cook
I feel blessed to be a true Southerner. Born in Savannah,Ga.,I have lived most of my life in Tennessee. The South has such a great diversity in cuisines. From seafood to down home country cooking and don't forget "THE BBQ". I've been married for twent one years, no kids(except my dog-children)and I have been a Respiratory Therapist for almost twenty five years.
My favorite things to cook
I have been known to be a "crock pot queen" but lately I've been trying to cook simpler meals with less gravies and sauces. I like to find recipes that are easy but unique. And I use my grill A LOT! I live in the South, we grill all year long.
My favorite family cooking traditions
The annual five course pre-Christmas dinner with that I make for my husband and my parents as a gift for them. I get out the fine china and crystal for this dinner. My Mom and Dad love it.
My cooking triumphs
When anything I cook makes people happy.
My cooking tragedies
The only thing I can think of was making a blueberry sorbet in a new ice cream maker. It got all over the counter in the kitchen and stained it. And it didn't taste that great!

Hungarian Pork Chops
Just made these. I could drink the sauce!! DH declared them "GOOD PORK CHOP,*grunt*". High accolade from him! Didnt bread and fry chops just pan seared and added plain greek yogurt instead of sour cream at end of cooking. Served mine with green salad and oven roasted rosemary sweet potatoes. Will make again! Thanks for recipe!

Colleen's Slow Cooker Jambalaya
My husband LOVED this dish and I really didn't think he would care for it! I didn't use chicken broth(didn't need it in the slow cooker) I only had smoked sausage and no shrimp but it was still gooooood! So glad I made it. BTW, my parents live in Hixson and I was raised on Siganal Mt. I'm sharing this recipe with my Mom!!

Cheesy Cornbread Casserole
I didn't use a 13x9 casserole b/c that would have made the whole thing about an inch thin. I also used (half a can) of tomatoes w/chiles and I subbed chili beans for the black beans and can of enchilada sauce b/c that's all I had. Made it otherwise as per recipe, and put it in a 2.5 qt. round casserole. That was a perfect size. Pretty good, cheap meal. Thanks!
