Keema (Indian-Style Ground Meat)

Reviewed: Aug. 26, 2012
This recipe was excellent and super easy! Based on the previous reviews I made the following modifications: used ground beef instead of lamb, only used 1.5 TBS garam masala, added 1/2 tsp. curry and 1/2 tsp. cumin, added 1 can of chick peas, used 5 tsp. of tomato paste, used 1 cup beef broth. Served over jasmine rice and it was fantastic! Excited to have found a new ground beef recipe for the books!

FANTASTIC recipe! I use 3-4 tsps. of curry, 1 cup of shredded cheese (I'm a cheese fanatic) and sprinkle bread crumbs over the top before baking. Absolutely amazing dish!

Slow-Cooked Chili

I absolutely swear by this recipe! It's never let me down. Let me say it's great as it is written. I've made some adjustments to it but NOT because it lacks anything at all - just personal preferences based on what I like (or don't like as much)... That said, here are my alterations to some of the listed ingredients and I added a new one: 1 lb. stew meat; 1 lb. lean ground beef; 1 can of kidney beans; 1/2 of a large onion, chopped; 1 (4 oz.) can of chopped green chilis... Also, at the end, I take about 1/4 cup of cornstarch in a bowl, dissolve it in water and stir it in to thicken. The rest of the ingredients I use as directed. It's really an awesome recipe!

Best Ever Chicken Casserole

Reviewed: Aug. 26, 2012
Absolutely amazing dish - family loves it and it's been a go-to of mine for several years. Based on my own preferences I make the following modifications: use 3/4 of an onion chopped, use 1/2 cup mayo and 1/2 cup sour cream and use 1 full cup of cornflakes in the mix and then cover the top with more crushed cornflakes.

Chicken Jambalaya I

Reviewed: Jul. 18, 2014
This is FANTASTIC! I followed the recipe just about exactly... didn't have any "file powder" so I omitted it, used "fire-roasted diced Italian tomatoes" because that's all I had in the right size, and 2 cups brown rice with 1 can of chicken broth... but as far as I can tell, I didn't substitute anything that would dramatically change the flavor so I consider it true taste to the recipe... it's DEFINITELY being made again! Thanks Suzanne!
