Wine and Dijon Marinated Pork Loin

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2008
We really enjoyed this flavorful roast. I didn't have red onion or plain yogurt so I used vidalia onions and no yogurt. I took the foil off for the last ten minutes to let it brown just a little bit. I served it over egg noodles and the sauce over the top was quite yummy. Thanks so much!

Butter Rich Spritz Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2007
YUMMY! I've never used confectioners sugar and just egg yolks in my spritz cookies but I LOVE them! I didn't have almond but I do normally like the flavor so I will get some for future batches. I used my Kitchen Aid mixer to combine the ingredients and the butter was good and soft so I had no problem getting the dough through my ACME $10, 15 year old cookie press. In fact it was better than in the past! Do watch them in the oven though. Like all spritz you have to take them out before you see brown edges.

Baked Pretzels

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2008
Wow, these pretzels are terrific! My husband loves hot pretzels and I have been using a recipe that required boiling the dough before baking. These pretzels are not only quicker but better! I too made my pretzels bigger so then they had to bake longer. I also turned the oven up for the last two or three minutes to brown them a bit more. Thanks for a great recipe.

Tortellini Alfredo

Reviewed: Feb. 10, 2007
We enjoyed this recipe very much although I altered it some. I didn't have regular onion so I used green onions and I also used priscutto ham rather than cubed ham (no mushrooms either). I had some breaded chicken cutlets leftover so I warmed them in the oven and put them over the pasta and poured the sauce over the top. Fresh broccoli on the side rounded out this yummy dinner.

Awesome!! Just enough spice but not overpowering. I stuck to the recipe but I used regular crushed garlic, and plain breadcrumbs. Thanks!

Beef Barley Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2008
This recipe was very nice! I used beef chuck cubes (floured and browned before I put them in the soup). I also used regular barley so I simmered for an hour. Then I also like my soups to be a bit thicker and stew-like so I added more veggies (corn, peas and green beans) after the hour simmer and used 2 tbsp of corn starch mixed with a little broth and then brought the whole pot to a boil to thicken a bit. Yummy!

Fra Diavolo Sauce With Pasta

Reviewed: Feb. 10, 2008
My husband really likes this sauce. It's a tiny bit spicy for me but if I cut the red pepper a bit, I really enjoy it. Thanks, Laura

French Baguettes

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2008
I love this recipe! I'm a bread lover and I made this recipe twice this weekend. I don't always do the egg wash in the end b/c I don't want to waste the whites. It's not as pretty but tastes the same to me. Also if you spritz the oven walls with water when you put the bread in it makes a crispier crust. Thanks for the recipe!

Spicy Chicken Breasts

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2007
These were pretty spicy but I cut it with blue cheese dressing and making it into a sandwich with the French Bread Baguette recipe from this site. Yummy! I also didn't grill them. Used the broiler. Six minutes per side on fairly thick breasts was perfect!

Maryland Crab Cakes III

Reviewed: Feb. 10, 2008
My husband is from MD and I make these every few months. They are delicious. You have to be careful when turning them b/c mine have had a tendancy to break apart. Using two spatulas to turn has helped and also allowing them to get pretty crispy before turning them. Enjoy! Thanks for the recipe, Laura

White Bread I

The bread came out great. I like to add about a cup of raisins during the "add extra" cycle. It had a good consistency. Thanks, Laura

Chicken Breasts with Balsamic Vinegar and Garlic

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2008
This dish was very good! I was surprised how little I could taste the garlic. I used portabello mushrooms and enjoyed the flavor but not the texture of the mushrooms but that's nothing new for me. I served it with mashed potatoes. We enjoyed this quick but tasty dinner and I will definitely make this again.

Clone of a Cinnabon

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2007
These are wonderful!! The texture of the bun is perfect and the brown sugar in the filling makes the wonderful gooey sauce you expect. Make sure you don't overbake. Thanks for the recipe!
