Lentil and Sausage Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2009
I used more chicken broth and less water but left everything else the same. It was really good and my husband was glad we had leftovers when he came back from a business trip. I always seem to cook the good stuff when he's out of town :-)

Dietetic Banana Nut Muffins

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2007
These muffins are amazing! I made them without telling my husband what was in them. One bite and I knew he was very happy with the results - only then did I tell him. He said he was going to get the butter before he took a bite (he normally slathers on a thick layer on my banana bread - maybe that's not a good thing!) but he said these didn't need them. They were very moist. The only changes I made were to increase the applesause to 1/2 cup since I was a little short on the banana, 1/2 tsp. cinnamon & 1/2 tsp. of nutmeg and before baking, I sprinkled a little Splenda Brown Sugar on top of the muffins. Thank you for sharing this recipe!

Brown Sugar Meatloaf

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2006
I have made this meatloaf a few times and my family LOVES it. They haven't liked all of my previous attempts - had to be the recipe, not ME :-) I forgot the milk and it still turned out perfectly. I mix the brown sugar and ketchup together & pour half on the bottom, half on the top. Made excellent sandwiches the next day.

Sausage Gravy I

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2005
We loved this recipe. Used butter instead of bacon grease but will use it in the future. Will also try with a variety of saugages. Husband & sons loved it with J.P.'s biscuit recipe from this website.

Apple Turnovers

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2005
These turnovers are incredible. The crust was flaky & the filling was very flavorful. I'll be making these on a weekly basis - if not more often. Thanks for the recipe!

American Lasagna

Reviewed: May 11, 2005
After reading the other reviews, I added 1/2 pound Italian sausage to 1 pound of ground beef. I also used Kraft Shredded Parmesean, Asiago & Romano cheese in place of plain parmesean. The house smelled wonderful. My husband took a bite and after swallowing, he said "Do NOT lose this recipe." He went on to say that it was better than his father's lasagna that no one has ever beaten before. The kids loved it as well. Loved the fresh basil. Thanks for sharing!!

Cha Cha's White Chicken Chili

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2005
This recipe is fantastic. I added one can of whole kernel corn and a few tablespoons of sour cream - everything else was just right. My husband and son each had 3 bowls. So much for leftovers!

Angel's Old Fashioned Beef Stew

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2004
This stew is the best recipe I've ever tried. I used "stew meat" from the store and it turned out so incredibly tender. The flavor is good but I added a bay leaf for a little extra. My family loved it - even the picky 10 year old.
