My favorite things to cook
Cakes, pies, cobbler's, any comfort food, crock pot meals, baked meals. Anything with potatoes.
My favorite family cooking traditions
We have ham and turkey every Christmas, with home made bread, even though it is just my husband and me eating it. I make pumpkin bread and pies, the same thing every year, so I guess you could call them traditional. I have always cooked big meals for my family on Thanksgiving and Christmas, so it's been challenging to cook for two but still love doing it.
My cooking triumphs
I made an Italian cheesecake and it was sooooo good. My husband asks me every once in a while if I would make him another one. I mentioned it recently so may do it. Great success!
My cooking tragedies
I know I've surely got some but can't think of any.

Chocolate Chip Pumpkin Bread
I have this same recipe, it is great. This one, though, says to use 2 tsp of soda. Mine calls for 1. Love it, I make it for gifts. It's called Christmas loaf.

Hummingbird Cake
I have made this exact recipe for years, accept for the black walnuts, I like English. I bought this generic cream cheese and froze it. When I made the icing it was grainy, so don't use cheap cream cheese. I am going to make this cake in loaf pans without the icing and pretend it's banana bread. I can't find a good banana bread recipe so will try this as one, I think it'll pass. It is so moist, it's my favorite to make and to eat. Thanks!

The Best Banana Bread
I only had two ripe bananas so threw in a big spoon of chunky applesauce, with some walnuts and put a little salt in as well. I used real butter, unsalted. It is a basic recipe which I like. Few ingredients making it fast and easy. I can add choco chips, or whatever I want to it and make it different every time. Liked it.
