Weekly Shopping ---for Groceries - Me?????

The madness continues as since the new stove (see earlier entry) I actually go grocery shopping every week instead of once a month.  It's udder madness I tell you.  Again, grocery shopping was a pain in the butt to me and I would buy in huge quantities or bulk so I would only have to go once a month or send my wonderful husband during the week to pick up anything we needed.

Now its as exciting as my younger days of going to the mall shopping for that perfect top or pair of jeans.  I find myself actually creating a shopping list and stocking a pantry - yes I have one and now actually use it for what it was meant to be used for and I'm happy about this.  Is it old age creeping up on me and I just don't know it?

My kitchen is very large - and it must have been so sad the past 15 years that I have lived here to only be used properly during holidays or my children's birthdays - that sort of thing.  Now it must be exhausted with all I am creating each night.

But I digress - back to the grocery store - I have been shopping at the same store for many years but now find myself knowing the people who work there by name - that would have frightened me even a year ago.

Amazing what a new stove can do.....

to be continued ....

Yeah, I know the feeling about hating to go grocery shopping. I used to hate it also. However, since I've started learning how to cook on Allrecipes, I enjoy food shopping. Finding that obscure ingredient is now a fun challenge. I used to just skip over a recipe if it had an ingredient I'd never heard of before.

I tell ya what else has been wonderful is my KindleFire. My daughter bought for me for Christmas and it is by my side. I can pull up my Allrecipes website and follow along as I circle between the stove, oven and pantry. When I find I am missing an ingredient I can google a replacement - maybe the two go hand in hand? Hmmmmm :)

Happy to hear that you are enjoying the kitchen again. How fun that you are using your Kindle along w/your new appliances. I love my pantry!
