About this Cook
I am a high school teacher, married, with two very active little boys.
My favorite things to cook
Bread! Baking bread is almost a magical process for me. Pair it with some homemade butter, and I'm in heaven.
My cooking triumphs
Discovering the perfect bread recipe. It's from a 1960's cookbook put out by Fleischman's yeast. Their sponge method bread is THE BOMB! Funny, though, I can't find it in their modern day site. Only in that cookbook. It truly is the best recipe.
My cooking tragedies
Gee, where do I start? I have two boys who are vegetable-phobic and general picky eaters, and my husband is also a fairly picky eater. I'm slowly building up a recipe library of food that my family will ALL eat! Trial and error, of course. I think the worst recipe was a chicken spaghetti recipe that made A TON of food . . . and no one in my family really liked it. I felt too guilty to throw out the leftovers, so I spent the next week eating it for meals. I actually didn't think it was that bad; it just didn't suit my family's taste.

Easy Herb Roasted Turkey
I'm 37 and made my first Thanksgiving turkey ever today. I always dreaded the day that I would be asked to host Thanksgiving because I feared making a dry, dull turkey that everyone ate out of sheer politeness. Well, I made this today and I feel like a turkey-cooking pro! Moist, flavorful, and DELICIOUS -- that is what this turkey was. I will make it again and again. THANK YOU!

Best Tuna Casserole
I love the good ol' standard tuna casserole, and this is it! I followed the recipe pretty closely, but I omitted the mushrooms. I also added 1 C. sour cream to the soups to combat the dryness problem, and I cooked it in a square 2 1/2 quart casserole rather than the 9x13. This was delicious and is a perfect standby in the dinner rotation.

Parker's Famous Margaritas
I was looking for a margarita recipe that replicated the one from our local Mexican restaurant, and this is it! Love the fresh lime juice -- it is what makes this drink. I did back off on the tequila after the first batch because I do not like to taste the tequila over everything else, so I notched it back to 4 oz. instead. GREAT drink, though -- just what I was looking for.
