About this Cook
I am a single mother of 4 kids under the age of 6 , so time is usually at a premium for me...this is why I prefer one-pot or quick and easy meals. I love to cook...I am always cooking for my friends and family and getting rave reviews... I am taking 2 cooking and catering courses and hope to open my own catering business in a few more years. The recipes I find here are absolutely fantastic...many are recipes I have been searching for but never been able to find....and the added bonus of keeping them within the site without taking up space on my harddrive is great!!
My favorite things to cook
Mostly main dishes...I love to create and change around main dishes.. also side dishes. I enjoy baking , but rarely have time to do so...
My favorite family cooking traditions
Our family holiday meals...everyone gets together and pitchs in to make the food , serve it , clean up , and then sit down and play cards.
My cooking triumphs
The day I made the lightest fluffiest bran muffins ever...with whole wheat flour no less! It was my own recipe too.
My cooking tragedies
Something called friendship muffins...not only did they fail to rise , but they actually fell , so that I had nothing but a muffin cup with a muffin that had no top. All of the batches did that...I was so upset.. My other failure was in cooking class in grade 9...we were making oatmeal cookies and I (arggghhh) forgot to add the flour!! Needless to say , there was quite a mess to clean up...the cookies ran all over the place in the oven...*cringe*

Crispy Rosemary Chicken and Fries
I loved this recipe!! I got home late one night and had to feed my mom , sister , and 4 children...I tried this recipe and dinner was served less than 90 min later...all my kids loved it and they are notoriously picky note , though...I changed the oregano to sage by mistake and it still tasted awesome...go ahead and try it!! Your tastebuds will agree...
