i made the sandwich on a hot, humid chicago evening by grilling italian bread, the meat and the cheese -then following the rest of the recipe. the sandwich turned out excellent - a little sloppy but definitely a keeper

Easy Cajun Jambalaya

Reviewed: May 25, 2004
the whole family really enjoyed this. for the most part, followed the recipe. i used wok oil (wok oil is flavored with garlic and ginger) instead of olive oil. i did omit the hot sauce and left it on the counter for anyone who needed an extra kick...i did add a can of diced tomatoes as suggested previously.(i used diced tomatoes with garlic and olive oil.) the recipe really made the house smell good....

My Chili

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2004
recipe was a great chili starter. i did make some adjustments by adding 1/2 bottle of beer. i also used 1 can of diced tomatoes flavored with garlic and olive oil,1 can stewed tomatoes, italian style, 1 can paste, roasted garlic, 1 can hunts seasoned diced tomatoes sauce for chili and 1 t. sugar to cut the acid with all the tomatoe products. chili turned out great. i had the chili powder and hot sauce in the table, but no one used it. actually made chili mac and had bowls of additional chopped onion, shredded cheddar cheese and sour cream on table. thanks for the great chili starter!!

Mary's Roasted Red Pepper Dip

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2005
i made this dip the other weekend for a poker party, and the dip was well received. i did make a few changes: i used 4 cheese mexican cheese instead of the monterey jack, i also(like others) added 1/2 c. sour cream and i added 1 teaspoon of worcheshire sauce. turned our great... i bet you could substitute sun dried tomatoes instead of the roasted red peppers... thanks!!!
