Scott Hibb's Amazing Whisky Grilled Baby Back Ribs

Reviewed: Jun. 2, 2005
FABULOUS!! This is my most requested dish. My granddaughter even suggested that maybe we could have ribs for our Christmas dinner. Better than restaurant quality.

Best Ever Meatloaf I

Reviewed: Jun. 7, 2005
Easy to fix, basic meatloaf, but way too bland. This needs a lot more flavor.

Cream Cheese Christmas Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2006
These cookies are my holiday favorites. I have been baking them at Christmas every year for about ten years now. They have a great flavor and look festive on the cookie tray. Be careful not to overbake them - - very lightly browned is perfect for a slightly chewy, cheesecake taste.

Spicy Bean Salsa

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2006
This is awesome! So easy, so quick, and so good! I would give it ten stars if I could. I used diced tomatoes with green chiles and Newman's Own Light Italian Dressing. This was a big hit. This is a new family favorite.

Million Dollar Fudge

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2007
This was ok, but not great. More marshmallow flavor than chocolate, and did not set up as well as expected. This may have had something to do with the fact that I used one 9" x 13" pan instead of two 8" square pans. Anyway, I will keep searching for the perfect fudge recipe.

Italian Bread Using a Bread Machine

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2007
Oh my gosh! This is the BEST Italian bread I have ever tasted! My first try didn't rise very well. The loaves were tasty, but small. On the second try I added the salt with the liquids instead of with the dry ingredients because I have heard that salt can kill the yeast. I also added 2 Tbs. water and 1 Tbs. gluten, and shaped the dough into one large loaf instead of two smaller ones and sprinkled sesame seeds on top. This was just incredibly good! I will be making this bread every week, and will probably make extras to give to the neighbors.

Shoepeg Corn Casserole

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2007
This is pretty good. The shoepeg corn stays nice and crispy. It also makes quite a bit. I added some cubed ham to the leftovers. Very yummy! I'll probably put the ham in right away next time I make this.

Changed the yeast to 2 tsp. and otherwise made as stated. Very good bread. The cottage cheese gives a delicious chewy texture. I will make this again.

Very good recipe. I like the different types of beans. I followed the recipe exactly and it turned out very nice. I drained the beans and the dish was not too dry at all. Next time I will preheat in the microwave and dice the bacon. Thanks for submitting Sharon!

Simple preparation, great taste, and very pretty in a glass bowl! The peach pie filling gave a tasty glaze, and the bananas did not discolor, even by the next day. I will add this to my list of favorites.

Chicken Noodle Casserole

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2007
AWESOME RECIPE LORI! Thanks for submitting. I substituted 1 tsp. poultry seasoning and used shredded colby jack cheese, and black pepper because I didn't have savory, cheddar, or white pepper. Next time I will double the black pepper. I also used the cooked meat from a 3 lb. chicken that I had in the freezer. This may have been a little more chicken than the recipe called for. It filled my 9 x 13 pan to the brim, but did not boil over in the oven. Colorful, appetizing appearance, and TERRIFIC TASTE. This is big time comfort food. I will make it often.

Chicken Marsala

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2007
Wow! This was really, really good! Made according to the recipe, except I tripled the mushrooms. GREAT RECIPE! Thanks Lisa. UPDATE: I made this again and unfortunately discovered that the quality of the wine makes a huge difference. I used a lower quality wine and it was not nearly so good. It didn't even seem like the same recipe.

Honey Of An Oatmeal Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2007
Awesome bread! I followed the suggestion of Booey4U and changed the serving size to 15 for my Zojirushi. Perfect. I used a basic course and light crust setting. Next time I will use a medium crust setting as it was a little too light. Also added a scant 1/4 c. more flour and 1/4 tsp. additional yeast. Thanks for submitting, Merrilee. This is a definite keeper.
