About this Cook
I cooked professionally for about 15 years and love to experiment with recipes.
My favorite things to cook
Stir fries, chicken and shrimp recipes.
My favorite family cooking traditions
This isn't a 'cooking' tradition but on Christmas I always have Lebanon Bologna rollups (thickly sliced Lebanon Bologna stuffed with cream cheese and rolled up)as one of the hors d'oeuvres.
My cooking triumphs

Tomato Basil Pasta Salad
As written this is a definite 4 star keeper. For my own taste I thought it needed a little more. I used 3 types of vinegar (which came to more than 2 tablespoons total: white balsamic, red wine and rice vinegars. I tossed in a generous handful of baby spinach leaves chopped up, cucumber slices halved and about a dozen mini mozzaball cheeses cut in half. I added some halved black olives and leftover coked string beans too. Also for my own taste I included a 2nd jar of marinated artichoke hearts along with the marinade, didn't use the plain kind in water (the recipe doesn't say which type to use).

Bacon Cheddar Patty Cakes
As written it's not that good because you really need flour to mix in with the potatoes and eggs in order to keep the patties together, otherwise they fall apart while frying. You also need real onion, diced small to give the patties some down home flavor since onion powder isn't going to do that.

Penne and Vodka Sauce
The key ingredient to this is to use a good PASTA sauce, not plain tomato sauce since that doesn't have any type of special flavor, there are no herbs or spices in plain tomato sauce. To give it a little more zing you need to add fresh chopped garlic sauteed along with the pancetta, maybe even some diced fresh basil.
