About this Cook
I cooked professionally for about 15 years and love to experiment with recipes.
My favorite things to cook
Stir fries, chicken and shrimp recipes.
My favorite family cooking traditions
This isn't a 'cooking' tradition but on Christmas I always have Lebanon Bologna rollups (thickly sliced Lebanon Bologna stuffed with cream cheese and rolled up)as one of the hors d'oeuvres.
My cooking triumphs
Many :)
My cooking tragedies
Many :)

Salsa Chicken
Oh come on you people who are giving this recipe 1 and 2 stars because it's "bland". What did you expect from a recipe with only 4 ingredients plus the chicken? If you think it's lacking in flavor try marinating the chicken for several hours with the taco seasoning and salsa mixed together, then bake the chicken in the marinade. Use some common sense folks :) Thank you Faye for your recipe.

Garlic Mashed Potatoes In The Slow Cooker
Being a professional cook for years I learned to never use red potatoes when making mashed potatoes since they're too watery. The best to use is Russet, Idaho or even Yukon Gold. They're dryer and when mashed turn out fluffier. Other than that the recipe itself is ok but the title is misleading since you don't actually cook in the slow cooker but rather you keep the already made mashed potatoes warm in it.

How to Make Turkey Manicotti
Instead of making crepes I bought jumbo shells then undercooked them a little. I doubled Chef John's filling recipe but substituted oregano for the marjoram and romano cheese instead of parmesan. I did double the filling recipe since I cooked the entire box of shells and had enough filling for 30 (there were 38 shells in the box). This is a great way to use 2 cups of leftover turkey but I think the stuffed shells need more than 1-1/2 cups of sauce, I used more than 2 cups. They're yummy by the way :) Thanks Chef John :)
