Pumpkin Bread

Reviewed: Apr. 4, 2013
I make this a lot and we love it! I've made it as loaves and also in a bundt pan. It's so moist and delicious. It's dangerously addictive!

Fantastic Chicken Burgers

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2012
My husband and kids love this burger (me too, of course!). I use the extra spicy guacamole mix (in our store it is located in the produce department), and usually forget to add in the cilantro. It is great either way. I like to top mine with sliced avocado and salsa. Delicious!

Mashed Cauliflower

We did not anticipate liking this. But we did! Not perfectly creamy, but that's ok. It was mildly flavored and satisfying.

Chicken Jalfrezi

Reviewed: Jul. 23, 2012
I have made this twice, and I wish I had reviewed it after the first time to help me out the second time around. The first time I made it, it was out of this world. So rich and delicious. I did add green peppers at the beginning with the onion and garlic. When I make it again I will not put in the cilantro because tonight it was all I could taste. To anyone on the fence, this IS worth trying, but I do recommend adding the green pepper and omitting the cilantro.

Beef Stew VI

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2012
I've made this several times, always as written except every now and then we switch up the spices. Warm and flavorful, perfect for a cold evening. Serve with french bread or homemade rolls and you're set!

Bread Pudding III

Reviewed: Jul. 14, 2011
yum. Yum. YUM. We loved this. I made it with some leftover white cake I had, and a few slices of leftover bread. I only had 5 eggs, but I cooked it in a water bath for 35 minutes and it was so moist.

Spinach Bars

Reviewed: May 29, 2011
My mother in law and I liked this. No one else did. But it really was delicious. I used fresh spinach and an entire container of fresh mushrooms. I did have to cook it for 40 minutes rather than 30. It was too wet after 30.

Chocolate Peanut Butter Bars IV

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2011
I tried to make this as written, but couldn't add all the powdered sugar - the crumb mixture was way too dry. Next time I will use less crumbs or more peanut butter (melt it a little in the microwave!). It tasted fine. Also, leave them in the refrigerator for more like 10 minutes before slicing. After 5 minutes my chocolate was still a little melty and made my first few cuts a big ol' mess. So I put them back in for about 5 minutes more, then they were super easy to cut.

Strawberries 'n' Cream Trifle

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2011
I hate when people review recipes after making a lot of changes...but I'm getting ready to do just that, lol. I used white chocolate pudding (a 3oz, I don't think a 1oz package exists) with fat free sweetened condensed milk and light cool whip. Oh.My.Lord. I just wanted to eat the pudding mixture by itself. For the cake I used a butter recipe cake mix cooled completely and cut into one inch squares. The combination was fantastic.

Cheesy Buffalo Chicken Dip

Reviewed: Mar. 25, 2011
I made this over Christmas for a "chips and dips" party. It was really good, but I can't explain why! We just ate it and ate it and ate it...

High Temperature Eye-of-Round Roast

Reviewed: Mar. 25, 2011
This was really good. My oven is newer, and has a cooling mechanism, so it did not hold the heat. That is why I rated it 4 stars, I had to keep my eye on the temperature the whole time. I was looking forward to leaving it and forgetting it. I rubbed it with onion powder, garlic powder, crushed red pepper and a little bit of salt. The crust over the meat was fantastic. Like everyone, I was skeptical, but this is worth a try!

I loved this. LOVED this. It tasted so fresh. I could taste every individual veggie. The smoked gouda was the PERFECT compliment. Simple, fresh, delicious meal.

Apple Butter Pork Loin

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2011
Made this specifically for my boyfriend. He loved it, which was the point. I didn't care for it. The cut of meat was so lovely, and the sauce smelled fantastic, but I just don't enjoy sweet with my savory. My kids who are meat eaters cried when I told them they had to take three bites before they could leave the table. I think it's just a matter of taste. Also, I cooked it for 45 min, then about another 30-40 uncovered. It would have been horribly dry if cooked for three hours.

Ham and Cheese Biscuits

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2011
These are one of my very favorite things, and I'm not a fan of ham. Havarti cheese is a MUST for these rolls. My kids don't like the mustard so I make one pan with and one without. As much as I enjoy the mustard, making them without is so gooey and comforting. Load these babies up with Havarti cheese and Virginia brand ham. Delicious!

Absolutely the Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2010
These are great! I used regular shortening b/c it's all I had, and I mixed half milk chocolate chips and half white chips. I might try them with butter flavored shortening eventually, but see no reason to buy it only to use with this recipe.

Aunt Teen's Creamy Chocolate Fudge

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2010
My first time making fudge. I made it with milk chocolate chips and after it was in the pan it looked blah so I melted some white chips with marshmallow fluff and put in a swirl. It looked nice. I ate a couple pieces last night, it's very rich. My boyfriend took it to work this morning and it was gone really fast. Already have requests for the recipe and they said it was the creamiest fudge they'd ever had. Thanks for the recipe!

White Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2010
I would give this a hundred stars if I could. I made this for Thanksgiving and I had never made a cheesecake before, but this was absolutely perfect. It was better than any restaurant or store cheesecake I have ever eaten. The presentation was gorgeous and the taste...ooohhh the taste. Everyone was really impressed, but I think I was the most impressed. I felt like a culinary genius, lol. Followed the recipe to the letter. Amazing is not a strong enough word. Editing to say I did use a water bath and left it in the oven for an hour after the bake time was up. No cracking, no runniness, just perfect firm creamy cheesecake. The previous reviewer who had so many problems must have done something really wrong b/c this was time consuming but quite simple for anyone with any sort of cooking experience.

Grandma Ople's Apple Pie

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2010
I bake all the time, but this was the first apple pie I have ever made. Honestly, I was looking for a more traditional cinnamon tasting pie, but this was really delicious. Granny smith apples were perfect, adding the tartness needed to offset the sweetness of the caramel sugar mixture. Make this as is and you will not be disappointed.
