Asian Orange Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2011
This recipe is VERY GOOD!! I doubled the recipe because my family can put some Orange Chicken away!! Besides that I pretty much stuck exactly to the recipe. I didnt use your measurements on the cornstarch because I always just eyeball it. Also when frying chicken for any Chinese dish I usually use cornstarch instead of flour. It makes a lighter and more crispy coating!! And it also sticks better!! Try it!! I think it makes a huge difference!! Thanks so much for sharing the recipe!! The family LOVED it and there wasnt a bite left!!

Caesar Salad I

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2010
This was pretty good!! I didn't really want to coddle the egg so instead I just added 1/2 cup mayo. I used a little less oil because of the mayo. I didn't have any ground mustard so I just added about a 1/2 tsp of dijon mustard. It wasn't the very best I have ever had but it was pretty darn good!! I WILL make it again!! Oh and I am not crazy about the "idea" of anchovys but I added a few because it just didn't really taste like Caesars without them. But I didn't add the whole can. It may have been even better if I did ...but I was afraid to. Thank you Cathy!!

Gina's Lemon Pepper Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 8, 2010
We are on a lowfat/calorie diet so I was looking for a recipe like that. I had a bag of raw chicken breast tenders that I wanted to use. I added some olive oil to a skillet and went by the recipe but used Lemon herb seasoning. I was SHOCKED at how flavorful it was!! It was really good!! I made lemon rice and red leaf salad with garlic and herb dressing and every bit was gone!!! We LOVED it and there was no guilt afterwards!! If you cook your chicken in Olive oil the lemon herb seasoning sort of makes its own gravy. It was very juicy and tender!! Thank you for the recipe!! We will be using it often!!

Ambrosia Fruit Salad

This is a very easy recipe. The only thing I changed was the spices. I know that Nutmeg can often be very strong so I just used a pinch...spiced it to taste. The family really enjoyed it!! Thanks!!

Mexican Stir-Fry

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2009
I made this tonight and there were NO LEFTOVERS!! I fed 3 people and I increased the recipe for 6 people. The only changes I made were.. I cut the peppers and onions in chunks more like I would in stir fry. I used pinto and red beans because I prefer them over kidney beans. They were PERFECT in this recipe!!And instead of "adding" the rice, I just served it "over" the rice. I had all of the ingrediants on hand so this was a very cheap, easy and delicious meal!!! I only gave it 4 stars because I wouldnt consider it one of our favorites...but thats just the way I rate recipes. It was definately good and worth trying!! It would be great for an after work quick meal on a cold winter night! Thanks so much for the recipe!! I will definately cook it again!! You could also serve this with Jalapeno cornbread or a side salad.

Crazy Cake

I made this cake just because it sounded good and it IS good!! I know this really defeats the whole purpose of not using eggs but I topped with my seven minute frosting. Everyone LOVED it!! One person even wanted me to make this for their birthday cake.

Frosted Banana Bars

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2009
These are very good! I used 3 large bananas because I love bananas! I think it probably just made it more moist. I dont own a jellyroll pan so I just used 2 small cookie sheets. It made them thinner and more "bar" like. I used a cream cheese frosting recipe from this site. They are very rich!! One thing that I like about this recipe is that I usually have all the ingredients and it is Also very cost efficient. Next time I will definately add Walnuts to the frosting or add to the mix. Thank you for sharing!!

Slow Cooker Beef Stew I

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2009
Now this is the right way to cook stew!! This is exactly the way I make it except I add a can of corn. It seems, from reading the different recipes, that people have different ideas of what stew is supposed to taste like. And this recipes is my idea of how it should taste. You can also use a litte Kitchen Bouquet. I always cook a big ol pan of cornbread to go with it (but I think thats just a southern thing since my yankee husband doesnt prefer it. He would rather have crackers.) GREAT RECIPE!! THANKS!!

Easy Chicken Rice Casserole

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2009
This was an outstanding dish!! Because of the other reviews that said it was bland I made a few changes. I added paparika and season salt to my chicken breasts and browned them in butter. I also added onion and celery. After thowing it all together I added the Lipton Onion Soup mix that others suggested. I just poured it over the top. And the masterpiece was created!!! This really was exceptionally delicious!! And it was in no way bland!! It was FANTASTIC!! And besides those few little things added, I made it just like the recipe said!!Thank you so much for sharing this recipe and also to the people that added the helpful reviews! I just love this website!!

But I wonder what rasberry jelly would taste like in them? Maybe I will try that next time. Thank you for posting one of my all time favorites!! Trust me guys...these are GOOD!! Pudding Poke Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2009
My husband asked me (at 9:00 at night) if I would make a 60th birthday cake for his friend at work. All I had in the pantry was a yellow cake mix so I strolled through the cake recipes on this site and saw that I had everything to make this cake. I made a yellow cake with vanilla pudding and chocolate pudding on top. I was concerned about putting the chocolate on top of the vanilla for fear that they would mix and turn out horrible. I mixed the chocolate until it was pretty much as firm as pudding and to my amazement I was able to actually spread it on like frosting!! I was not able to taste the cake but my husband said they raved about it!! The birthday mans wife called and asked for the recipe because her husband has made it his favorite cake!! This kind of reaction is what makes cooking such a joy for me! And whenever I get off of this stupid diet I am making this cake just for my family and myself!! My husband has already asked me to make another one because he loved it also! From thier reactions, I am going to have to give this cake 5 stars!! Thanks for sharing it!!

Seven Minute Frosting I

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2008
I have used this recipe for years!!! But I add 1/4 tsp cream of tartar. And like one person wrote, its very hard to make on a humid day. You also need to get your eggs room temp first. My Grandma made a 3 layer Coconut cake with this frosting, bananas, pineapple chunks and freshly grated coconut!! It is the closest thing to Heaven I have ever experianced (as far as food goes)!!It takes some time but its worth it! This frosting is also very very good on devils food cake!! Thank you for sharing!!
