Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Jun. 24, 2008
You don't have to change ANYTHING about this recipe. Buy bottom round meat and follow the recipe. The meat will be tender and delicious. My entire family, including my picky 6 and 7 year old kids LOVE POT ROAST thanks to this recipe.

The Best Banana Bread

Reviewed: Jun. 24, 2008
This was my first time making banana bread and it came out PERFECT!!! Of course I altered some stuff so here is goes: I used 1/2 cup applesauce instead of butter (to cut out all the fat), 1/2 cup white sugar and 1/2 cup brown sugar, 1 tsp vanilla, 1 tsp cinnamon, and 3 very ready to use bananas. I kept the eggs, flour and baking soda the same as what the recipe called for and it was just enough for ONE loaf pan. 1hr on 350 and it was ready. This is my new recipe for our family. My husband and kids don't like the nuts in banana bread so this works great!!!!

Easy Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2007
I wanted to make cut out cookies with my kids like in the picture, so I convinced myself that the people who put the bad reviews must have done something wrong since it has gotten several good reviews also....well I tried to make these last night and the batter was SO super sticky like other reviewers wrote, so I put it in the fridge until this morning and it was still a sticky mess. There was no way I could roll the dough in my hand to make a ball or with the roller to make the cut outs, so I just got a spoon and dropped small amounts onto a cookie sheet. Some that were too big were still raw in the middle at 8 min. cooking time, so I mostly had to cook them 12 minutes. I made another batch of dough this morning so I could give it a second chance and still way too sticky. I'm not an experienced baker so I didn't know a trick to fix that....I did try to add water and that would help for a few seconds, but then back to sticking. Like another reviewer wrote, these are ok if you AREN'T going to make cut outs. Those who did really need to share their secret!!! Overall these are easy to make and the taste is Ok, but I'll keep looking for another recipe that I can make cut outs with. The picture really shouldn't show cut outs for this recipe, because if you follow it as it's written, the dough is way too sticky for cut outs.

Brown Sugar Meatloaf

Reviewed: May 4, 2005
I usually make a spicy meatloaf but I think this is our new favorite. The sweetness of the brown sugar was very tasty. I did reduce the amount of brown sugar on the bottom, but it was still delicious.

Chicken Suiza Cornbread Bake

Reviewed: Jul. 27, 2004
My husband REALLY loved this one. I did too.... it was easy to make and came out perfect. After reading other reviews, I too decided to use real eggs, light sour cream, and left out mushrooms and the whole kernel corn, one can of the creamed was enough for us. I'll be making this one again and again , Thanks Michele!!

Spicy Rice

Reviewed: Jun. 15, 2004
My husband and I really liked this rice. We love spicy food and most things I have made off this website have not been spicy enough for us. I didn't add sirloin only chicken and halved the recipe, but I can't wait to make this as a side for Christmas Dinner. Thanks Heather

Beef Enchiladas II

Reviewed: May 26, 2004
Delicious!! I have never made enchiladas before so we really enjoyed these. I took advice from other reviews and made 2 packs of enchilada sauce and I added some taco seasoning to the meat for flavor, but I actually could have just added some enchilada sauce. I also put enchilada sauce on the tortillas before adding meat or cheese.(ok it sounds like tons of sauce, but It kept them from being dry and they came out wonderful) This really is one dish I will make for years to come. My husband was very impressed.

Curried Coconut Chicken

Reviewed: May 19, 2004
My husband and I really enjoyed this. We both like curry chicken, but my husband isn't crazy about coconut, but he ate every bit of this. The tomato soup mellows out the sweetness of the coconut. I served it over saffron rice and we didn't have any left overs!!! At first I thought it was too soupy, but my husband who frequents an indian restaruant at lunch said that is how the dishes there look. The combination of these flavors together is really good. I'll make this again.

Easy Beef Strogonoff

Reviewed: May 17, 2004
It came out ok, but next time I will add the entire pint of sour cream. I only used half because of reviews I read and it was like putting seasoned ground beef over pasta. No sauce at all!! I also added two cubes of beef buillon to the water when cooking the pasta, and had to add 1/4 cup of milk, two tablespoons of worcestchire sauce, and 3 dissolved cubes of beef buillon to the meat mixture for flavor. I now see why some said this dish was very bland. Adding these things helped. I will make this again, but you really have to adjust the spices to make it taste good.

Chicken or Turkey Tetrazzini Deluxe

Reviewed: May 12, 2004
I am new to cooking and was very excited at how this dish came out. I cut the recipe in half because we are a family of 4, but I made a few changes thanks to other reviews I read:(I only used 1/2 can of water ) I did not use any sherry and instead of the cheddar cheese I used a 16oz block of velveta cheese. I also added a half cup of red bell pepper. It took me much longer to make than the recipe says,(25 min just to saute) but worth it!! I would definately make this again.
