Fiesta Cheese Rice

Reviewed: May 27, 2008
Very yummy! I made just one change, actually. Instead of three cups of water and chicken bouillon, I used three cups of chicken broth (about one and a half of the small cans of Swanson). Easy and tasty, the kids devoured it! If anyone has put off trying this because they're worried it's too spicy, it was very mild. If you like spicy, I'd add some chopped jalapeño. You would never guess it's so easy to make. I hope this gets some more reviews!

Great Garlic Bread

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2006
Tasted like normal garlic bread...very easy! I think it needs something, but I personally can't put my finger on it. I think I'll read through the reviews and see if anyone else has suggested anything.

Good...a little too rich for me and my family, but I can think of a bunch of people to give these to that would really enjoy them!

Banana Pudding IV

Reviewed: Apr. 9, 2006
WOWZA. I've only tried banana pudding three times and hated it every. single. time. However, out of nowhere I began craving it...although I'm four months pregnant, so that may have something to do with it! I found this one, it was raed the most and the highest, so I figured if any banana pudding would ever be palatable, it'd be this one. I am so thrilled I tried it. I am a banana pudding convert! I didn't change anything except I didn't use the vanilla extract because I couldn't get my bottle open! It was still one of the best tasting things I've put in my mouth. Thanks!

Banana Banana Bread

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2006
My little boy loves this, so it gets four stars! I, however, have a sweet tooth and while this is certainly moist and banana-y, it lacks much sweetness to it...and my bananas were brown as can be! I will try this recipe again because it is so simple, but I'll omit the brown sugar and replace with white granulated next time.

Get a Husband Brunswick Stew

Fantastic. As others mentioned, I used some shredded pork in BBQ sauce instead of ground pork or a separate bottle of sauce. This soup is amazing.

Wonderful Margaritas

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2004
I guess I'm juat not a "margarita" kind of gal-didn't like these at all. I saw people saying this recipe was sweet...I found it to be pretty bitter. I'll stick to tequila shots! 1-2-3-TEQUILA! :o)

Six Can Chicken Tortilla Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2004
Eating as we speak-FANTASTIC! Not to mention simple, fragrant, filling...I doubled the corn, beans, and tomatoes with chilis but left the broth and chicken amounts the same. I also used Tyson fajita strips frozen chicken breast instead of the canned chicken. There a tortilla chips on the bottom, soup on top, and TONS of cheese and sour cream covering the whole thing and it is delicious.

Peanut Butter Cup Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2004
My mother left all of us a very similar cookie as her legacy...however, in true "Mama" fashion, she used a cake mix for her's! :o) In case anyone is pressed for time, here is her version: 1 c smooth peanut butter, 1 box yellow cake mix, 2 eggs, 1/4 c water, 1/4 c oil, 1/2 tsp vanilla, 2 bags of peanut butter cups. Preheat your oven to 350. Whisk oil, water, vanilla, and egg together until frothy. Stir in peanut butter and cake mix until well-blended. Roll walnut-sized balls of dough between your hands and place in mini-muffin tins. Bake for 10 minutes. Place a peanut butter cup in center of cookie while hot. Put in fridge! I'll give yours a shot tonight, thanks for the genuinely homemade variation!

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2004
Mmmm. This turned out so well and was easy to boot! The only modifications I made was to add a TINY bit of salt and a liberal amount of freshly ground black pepper to the water, cream of chicken soup, butter, onions, and chicken. I also threw in a couple chicken bouillon cubes for added chicken flavor-that's why I was so sparing on the added salt. My dumplings turned out great! Cooked in the middle, yet still soft-just like they should be. It took them 45 minutes as opposed to 30. Overall, very yummy and really not many changes needed-a couple extra spices, some chicken bouillon, and an extra 15 minutes for the bicuits! Try this, you won't be sorry!

Pina Colada Dip

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2004
SOOOOOOO good. Be careful not to let the kiddie's get into this one, I have a three-year-old who tried his darndest! I made this the second time as a nightime snack for myself and hubby...much better when you don't have to swat a toddler's hands out of the mix! Mmmmmmmm. By the way, we dipped fresh pineapple rings, fresh strawberries, bananas, and orange slices in this.

Lemme guess-English major? :o) This tasted so yummy! I, unfortunately, have an electric stove but it still turned out fantastic. Who would have thought I'd ever like something with bean curd in it?! Thank you for the entertaining recipe directions and thank you for the delicious dinner!

A Simply Perfect Roast Turkey

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2004
I used a 15-pound turkey and went easy on the salt because I used salted sweet cream butter. I also added poultry seasoning and black pepper. The only thing I wanted to comment on, really, is the turkey stock-I looked everywhere for premade, canned turkey stock to no avail and there was NO WAY I was going to make my own-so instead, I used Swanson's chicken broth and it still turned out wonderfully! This was the first turkey I've made and I was so happy to have a good guideline to follow. Thank you!
