About this Cook
Actually, growing up my mother tried to teach me to cook and I would cry and cry about it. Now I cook primarily because I have a family and I HAVE to. LOL
My favorite things to cook
My favorite recipe is burritos that I remember my mother cooking when I was little. Super easy...take a lb. of ground beef and brown it and drain the fat. Add a can of vegetarian style refrid beans and perhaps some garlic and a bit of salt and pepper. Warm the tortillas in the oven for about a minute and there you have it! Use whatever toppings you prefer...cheese, taco sauce, tomatos, onions, sour cream...whatever. HUGE hit with my whole family.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My favorite holiday tradition is baking the sugar cookies with my daughter and son for Santa Claus.
My cooking triumphs
I hosted Thanksgiving this past year for the first time and everything was a huge success. The turkey was perfect and all of the side dishes too!

Bacon Wrapped Hamburgers
This was indeed an exceptional burger but it does have its issues. I had a really hard time keeping the bacon wrapped on it and kept having to re-stick it back on. Use multiple toothpicks I suppose. Also, even though I pan fried the bacon for a the first couple of minutes to cook, it was still very chewy and not quite done. I did cut the egg in half to ensure the burgers stayed together and that worked. I will certainly do this again with some tweeking.

Golden Sweet Cornbread
This was pretty good although I had to bake it about 5-10 mins longer than recipe stated.
