I used 1 1/2 C of Brown sugar no white sugar, 1 1/2 C flour, 2 C oats, 1 tsp baking soda, 1 tsp of vanilla, 1 egg, a dash of salt, unsalted butter. I changed this recipe quite a bit got great cookies I like the brown sugar better since I didn't use white sugar I only used 1 tsp of vanilla. I think anymore oats would have made these way to crispy I like my cookies chewy they baked up great, a crisp edge chewy inside and done inside. Baked at 350 for 10-12 min. my oven bakes hot. I only gave 3 stars since I changed this recipe up so much. I added not quite a cup of chocolate chips no nuts I can't have nuts. Anymore than 3/4 C choc. chips would have been too much. the cookies have plenty of chocolate chips throughout. Great starting point recipe I've lost my go to recipe for oatmeal cookies this with all my changes is now my new one. Play with it and make it your own. Oh also my cookies didn't flatten and I didn't have to put the mix in the fridge it's very cold in OH my kitchen is cool. The recipe without changes I'd call Oatmeal Crisp Cookies since I think they would be very crispy and flatter. Just my opinion I've made oatmeal crisps this sounds very much like that recipe. I made all my changes from reading all the other comments thanks everyone.
