Mushroom Pork Chops

Reviewed: Aug. 16, 2014
I followed the recipe exactly and added a bit of minced garlic with the onion and mushrooms. The next time I will double the sauce because it was delicious!

World's Best Honey Garlic Pork Chops

Reviewed: May 14, 2014
I baked the pork chops rather than grill them and they were wonderful. I refrigerated the leftover sauce and used it later on chicken and it was just as delicious. I think I might add a bit more garlic next time just to bump the flavor up a bit. Definitely a keeper!

Octoberfest German Potato Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2012
This went together very quickly and I was eager to try it, but decided to give it some "standing time". I actually waited 36 hours before serving it with sauerkraut and sausage. We found the vinegar still over-powering even after sitting for a day and a half. I will cut the vinegar by half and try it again. Fifteen minutes for the potatoes was too much. I cooked mine for 12 minutes and they still turned mushy when I stirred them together with the dressing. I like the idea of slicing them instead of cutting in chunks, so I will try 10 minutes next time. Next time I will also try a different herb than parsley. Parsley is too bland in this salad.

Brooke's Best Bombshell Brownies

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2011
I have made these numerous times and they always receive rave reviews. This recipe has replaced my "formerly" favourite brownie recipe which I had been making for 35 years! Yummy!

Salmon Croquettes

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2011
These croquettes were a little bland. I had omitted the dill because we don't care for it, but added 1/4 t. salt. It still needs something to perk it up a bit. I used bread crumbs to coat and had to add some additional bread crumbs to the mixture to get it to hold together as I formed it into patties. The next time I think I will chill the mixture for an hour to let it "firm up". I baked them for 30 minutes at 350, but suggest turning them after 15 minutes so they brown more evenly.

Delicious Grilled Hamburgers

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2010
My family loved these burgers. Following the suggestions here, I only used 1/2 tablespoon of Liquid Smoke per pound. This imparted a good but not over-powering smoky taste. Next time I will make four burgers per pound as we found these a bit too large.

Oven Roasted Potatoes

Reviewed: Jul. 30, 2009
I made these using small new potatoes which I scrubbed but did not peel. They were a big hit! I didn't have any red pepper flakes, so I added a bit of chili powder. I think I might add more the next time just to bump up the heat a little.

Creamy Rice Pudding

Reviewed: Aug. 14, 2007
I doubled this recipe because the three of us really love rice pudding. We were not disappointed! We added nutmeg and/or cinnamon before serving. Yummy! When cold, it was a little thicker than we like, but we added milk and that solved the "problem". I used long grain rice and skim milk to prepare this recipe. It probably wasn't as creamy as it would have been with a richer milk.

Greek Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2007
This dish was very easy to make. The marinade has just the right blend of herbs. We found it needed salt, but that could easily be added to taste at the table. I used a combination of bone-in and boneless breasts and, because it is the middle of winter, baked them at 350 for about an hour. The bone-in breasts seemed to have more flavor for some reason. Will definitely make this more often!
