Banana Pudding Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 30, 2008
This is a very moist cake and has good flavor. I am not sure if it is called a pudding cake because pudding is part of the recipe or if it is because the cake actually has a pudding like consistency. I think it is a great doctored cake recipe but would probably choose a different recipe if I was trying to impress. Having said that... it is my most requested cake by the church youth group. :^)

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

Reviewed: Mar. 30, 2008
Truly the best apple pie I have ever served. I follow the recipe exactly. There is no need for cinnamon or vanilla. The pie is perfect the way the recipe is written. It is a success every-time and my guests always rave; rolling their eyes back in awe and making sincere yummy sounds. (Unfortunately, I can tell the difference between sincere and insincere yummy sounds having served some flops.) There is one thing though... the pie must be served warm and piping hot with vanilla ice cream is best. The pie looses the wow factor if it cools to room temperature and if it is cold it becomes rather unappealing due to the butter firming up. Still a wonderful recipe, I am so grateful you did not keep it a family secret!

Chicken Tetrazzini IV

Reviewed: Aug. 1, 2007
I really wanted to like this one but it was just too bland. I even took the suggestions of adding garlic, onion and fresh mushrooms. Better, but still not flavorful enough for all the trouble.

Hash Brown Casserole II

Reviewed: Aug. 1, 2007
I made this for a church brunch. I thought it was good; cheesy, salty, yummy. But people went nuts over this dish. And I mean NUTS! Even my husband. So, based on everyones reaction, I had to give it a 5 star. I guess it is a real people pleaser.

Good Old Fashioned Pancakes

Reviewed: Aug. 1, 2007
Yummy!!!! These are my sons favorite! The batter is a little thick for my liking so I add a bit more milk just to thin a little and I also add 1/2 tsp. of vanilla. A wonderful rib sticking pancake is the result. Thanks for the recipe!

Satiny Chocolate Glaze

Reviewed: Aug. 1, 2007
Yummy. I have made several times and it always comes out perfect. The consistency is thick and perfect for drizzling over pastries. I especially like to use the "chocolate cavity maker cake" recipe from this site and bake it in a square pan. Once done I use a biscuit cutter and cut out small round cakes. I then drizzle with this glaze. Garnish with a berry and mint leaf and you are looking pretty fancy!

Cheddar Bay Biscuits

Reviewed: Aug. 1, 2007
These are good. Very easy to prepare. I have served them several times. No one has ever gone nuts over them but they are well received. I find that guest enjoy the plain biscuits more. But these very nice.

Scrambled Eggs Done Right

Reviewed: Aug. 1, 2007
Okay, I thought what's the big deal. Eggs are eggs. I was wrong. There really is a right way to cook eggs and this is it! Follow the directions to the letter. Cook over low and do not salt until done. My whole family loves these and my youngest won't eat eggs unless prepared this way. Fantastic! Cooks up well in bigger batches too.

Chocolate Cavity Maker Cake

Reviewed: May 12, 2006
Fantastic! The taste is peferctly choclately and the recipe so very, very simple. I have also had great success with raspberry liquor. I have baked it in two eight inch rounds and then frosted it with chocolate butter cream in an attempt to put my guests into a chocolate induced coma. But the nicest results is when I baked it in a ten inch square and then cut out circles with a biscuit cutter, drizzled with satiny glaze and topped with raspberries. Very pretty presentation. Thank you Caitlin for the recipe.

Very thick and very yummy. A big hit with my husband and friends. I have used ham on occasion instead of bacon with excellent results too. Great recipe!

Awesome Pasta Salad

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2005
I am typically not a fan of pasta salads, but this one is really good. Nice combination of flavors! The only thing I substitued was grape tomatoes for cherry, personal preference. Took it to a party and recieved rave reviews. Great recipe, thanks.

I was looking for something different and I found it in this wonderful cake. I did not powder with sugar or frost and thought it was very yummy! Nice as a dessert served warm with vanilla ice cream or great as is with brunch.

Raspberry Oatmeal Bars

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2005
This is a great bar recipe! It is very sweet but that's why it's so yummy. Works well with any jam. Friends especially like it with lemon curd and I have even used it with pie fillings. Turns out great everytime. Thanks Megan!

Spicy Orange Beef

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2005
This was ok. I guess the orange and the beef combination was just too strange for my boys. But I too felt as though it was lacking something... maybe spice or sweet. Not really sure. I followed recipe exactly and it was certainly easy. It just didn't appeal to our taste buds. Sorry.

Dump Bars

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2005
This is a good brownie, but not a great brownie. If I could rate it on ease alone, I would have given it five stars. The taste was nice and chocolatey. I have made it twice and found better sucess by mixing the chips into the batter. Both times left me a little diasppointed with the consistency as it was a little dense and cakey. Not very chewy as you might expect a great brownie to be. I would make again if I needed browines in a hurry, but not if I am trying to impress.
