Italian Meatball Sandwich Casserole

Reviewed: Jul. 12, 2006
ok, i made this for my brother in law and his wife and child when they came to visit. i must have done something wrong, because my bread on the bottom of the casserole was all mushy and slimy? maybe the bread should go on the top of the casserole instead of the bottom where all the juices are? everyone thought the meatballs were wonderful...extraordinary they said. but the rest of the casserole? i was embarassed and they politely didn't say anything (and didn't eat it either).

Beef and Biscuit

Reviewed: Jul. 12, 2006
sorry, but this didn't do anything for any of us...and there are 6 in our family. my kids have kind hearts and ate it anyway, but i knew they didn't care for it. i heard them whisper :) my hubby, who is more blunt, took a couple of bites and said he was going to pick up something at work since he was running late? and me...well, i ate it, but it really was plain. its just what it sounds like, biscuits and ground beef with tomato sauce, sour cream and cheese...and green chilis. my hubby kindly requested no casseroles for a while? thanks for the try, tho.

oh my gosh! outstanding restraunt quality dinner! and the sauce was out of this world! you MUST make the sauce several hours ahead so the flavors can mix! and be sure to get the green onions...they MAKE that sauce! the whole family (including 3 young children) all agreed this was a KEEPER!

SUPER recipe! only used 1 can of beans, no green chilis - kids don't like too much heat, and added 1 T. taco seasoning. oh, and used corn tortillas. SUPERB!

I couldn't get the cream cheese to mix evenly into the sour crea. And i took everyone's advice and added the tomato paste and italian seasonings and garlic and it was still bad. I was sorry everyone had to eat it for supper here. i won't be making this again.

Chicken and Dumplings III

Reviewed: Apr. 4, 2006
Wow! Amazing! I made some changes, too. I used 1/2 water and 1/2 low sodium chicken stock, doubled the recipe (we have a big family) and used two cans of cream of chicken, two cream of celery. Added one diced onion, fresh baby carrots, bay leaves, garlic powder, parsely and cracked peppercorn. Then I decided it was a little too salty and added about 1/2 c. milk! Yum! Oh, and I used my grandmothers favorite, bone and skin on thighs (makes tender juicy chicken and broth that is to die for!). Then I made bisquick dumplings (wayyyy better than canned if you have the time). I served this with peach pound cake for dessert and it was all gobbled up! Even took some to my son's elderly sunday school teacher and it was so good it brought tears to her eyes! Just like her mom used to make her when she was little! You gotta try this one...with or without the modifications you will loveee it!

Broccoli Beef II

Reviewed: Jul. 9, 2005
well, more like 4 1/2 stars! this was good, the kids liked it too. altho my finicky hubby said to leave the chinese cooking to the chinese...everyone else ate it and asked for me...and i have 3 children..so that's saying alot! i added some seseme oil to the frying skillet before adding the meat so the meat would make a little more juice...just about 2 tablespoons. gave it a great flavor, too! also, i used thinly sliced onions (its all i had) and all fresh veggies. i highly recommend it! we added some chinese hot sauce to our bowls (we like it hot!). oh, and we used regular soy sauce since everyone said it needed more salt! thanks for a great and quick recipe! yum!

The Best Meatloaf

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2005
this was ok...my hubby liked my other recipe (guy approved meat loaf is the name) better. i think this tasted bland...all you could taste was A-1 steak sauce. oh well, thats just our opinion. but if you don't care for this...you really should try our favorite (listed above). thanks for the try!

Caramel Popcorn

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2004
Yum! this was great! i used two 3 oz bags of microwave butter flavored popcorn, left out the salt and poured it into a deep large pan which was lined with foil and sprayed with pam. Easy cleanup! My brother in law consideres himself a conniseur (sp?) of carmel popcorn and demanded to have this recipe! I put some in small clear gift bags as Christmas gifts in a basket that included Amish White bread (on this recipe site) and homemade hot chocolate mix (also found on this site) The basket was very well received! Thanks for a great recipe!!!
