Lentil Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2005
This was the first time I'd made lentil soup and this recipe was phenomonal. I wouldn't change one thing. The family loved it and definitely said this one's a keeper!! I will make this again and again. Thanks for the recipe.

Mom's Italian Beef Barley Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2005
This recipe is absolutely delicious as is. The next time I will triple it, however so there will be plenty in the freezer for leftovers. Thanks Elaine for a real keeper. I will be making this often.

Slow Cooker Chicken Cacciatore

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2004
This recipe was delicious...and so easy to prepare. I added extra onions and peppers (red and green)along with fresh basil, rosemary and thyme. I also seasoned the chicken with salt, pepper, paprika and parsley before adding the other ingredients. The sauce was just the right consistency to serve with angel hair pasta. Thanks so much for the recipe.

Aunt Bev's Famous Apple Pie

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2004
This recipe is absolutely fantastic and the closest thing to my Mom's wonderful apple pie recipe. It's easy to assemble and makes one very generous size pie. I will be making this often. Thanks so much, Lori for another family favorite.

Peach Bread

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2004
This bread smelled better baking than it tasted, I'm afraid. I baked the loaves an extra 5 minutes than the recipe indicated, but the inside still seemed gooey. Unlike some other posters, I loved the cinnamon, but overall, I doubt I will make this again.

Minestrone Soup I

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2004
This recipe is absolutely FANTASTIC!! I did make a few of my own changes by eliminating the potatoes and adding fresh zucchini and green beans. I also seasoned the soup with lots of oregano and basil in addition to the seasonings called for in the recipe. I also doubled the recipe so we have plenty of leftovers to freeze. Thanks so much for what has already become a family favorite.

Marie's Easy Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2004
I just purchased a crock pot and this was the first recipe I tried. The roast was absolutely fantastic, and it was so great coming home after work and having the house smell divine. I added more veggies than was called for including some red and yellow peppers, and several of the small red potatoes which were delicious. This recipe is a real "keeper"...so thanks, Marie, for what I know will be a family favorite.

Cathy's Banana Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2004
This recipe is fabulous and is going to replace my old family one. I doubled the recipe and made one 9x5" loaf plain and 2 smaller loaves with 1 cup of mini chocolate chips added. This is moist and delish!! Thanks, Cathy.

This is an amazingly good soup considering how simple and fast it is to prepare. I added lots more veggies to the pot along with several Italian spices and it was terrific. This is a wonderful vegetarian soup with lots of flavor. Thanks, Anne.

Chocolate Banana Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 31, 2004
I loved this recipe!! It was incredibly moist and a perfect texture. I used one packet of Nestle instant cocoa mix as I didn't have the unsweetened cocoa and it was fabulous. I baked the bread in 3 smaller tins rather than 2 9x5" pans, and it was done in 55 minutes. Thanks for this great recipe.
