I'm 23 years old, I've been in the kitchen since I was a child, and I enjoy cooking for my family and friends. I have a daughter, Susanna, who is named after my maternal grandmother, who inspired my love of cooking.
My favorite things to cook
I love cooking Asian food, I've been perfecting my fried rice for the past three years. Recently, I've become interested in cooking healthier, and luckily, Asian food lends itself to that quite nicely. I also love Italian food, which is in my blood. I am also good at baking and creating desserts.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Like most families, Thanksgiving is a big time for cooking together. Growing up, Thanksgiving was held at my grandparents' house, where I learned how to make ambrosia, how to baste a turkey, make a more flavorful gravy and make the best blue-ribbon apple pie in Maine.
My cooking triumphs
My pride is my fried rice, which is versatile enough to be made with whatever meat and vegetables I have on hand, but I can stir fry almost anything. I am also proud of my orange sauce, and my spicy thai peanut sauce.
My cooking tragedies
Blueberry scones. I attempted to make one of my favorite breakfast treats, but it turned out to be a frustrating mess. It tasted alright, but was not as flaky as I desired. I will try again someday.
