Chicken Creole with Chile Cream Sauce

Reviewed: Sep. 6, 2014
The whole family enjoys this. So simple to make. I do encourage everyone to double the sauce. Doubling really makes too much but the sauce amount as made per recipe isn't quite enough for my family. We are rather obsessed with sauces in our family though.

Ginger-Scallion Crusted Salmon

Reviewed: Sep. 6, 2014
I had to make my own Ponzu sauce. Could not find it at any of the four grocery stores in town. My crust was soggy. Waiting to make the butter until after the fish was in the oven was a little off on the timing. My hubby and two children thought it was alright but it was a unanimous vote that this recipe was not worth the preparation effort. Also, many of the ingredients were not on hand. I don't do much Asian inspired cooking so the cost to buy everything for this was just too much for something that was rather blah. I always try to make as written the first time I make anything. Perhaps if I had deviated and broiled the fish I would have had a better result. The fish WAS moist and cooked well it just had a soggy "crust". I think anybody who has these ingredients already in their pantry and broils their fish at the end will like this. Also, if you have knife skills that allow you to mince quickly this may be more worth it to you then this was to me.

Roasted Herb Chicken and Potatoes

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2013
Awesome! I used a roaster oven since my regular oven is acting up. Super moist and flavorful. Took right at an hour to cook a five pound bird. I used six medium potatoes. I doubled the garlic, something we do by default in our home. I also doubled the sauce recipe but found out later it was not necessary. Plenty of sauce with recipe as is. We spooned the sauce over the chicken after we sliced it from the bone for extra flavor. Children AND husband loved it. Such a great flavor from such a simple to prepare recipe.

Round Steak and Gravy I

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2013
I have picked my brain trying to figure out what I could have done wrong with this recipe and have come up with nothing. Except for using tinfoil, I prepared it as directed and it was a mushy brown mess. It LOOKED gross. The meat was NOT tender. It was very salty. With all the good reviews I must have done something wrong??? But I have reread the recipe several times and don't see what I missed. We ended up throwing it out and just ate the sides we had also prepared.

Kickin' London Broil with Bleu Cheese Butter

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2013
LOVED the blue cheese butter and the general concept of putting it over the beef. The thing that kept me from giving this five stars is the cut of meat recommended in the recipie. I will make again, but use a better cut of meat.

Beef Yakitori

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2013
The whole family loved the flavor of this and it was simple to make. However, next time I make it I will use low sodium soy sauce. The salt content was a little too much. But, we will definitely make this again.

Apricot Chicken I

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2013
Whole family loves this. The chicken is nice and moist. The flavor is a perfect mix between sweet and tangy. I always read tons of reviews before selecting a recipie. After making this one, I was dumbfounded by some of the negative reviews I had read. Maybe people should stop rating a recipie where they substitued half the ingredients? Or maybe they don't know how to cook? One of the most delicious recipies I've tried from this site.
