Biscochitos Traditional Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2013
just like grandma/mom used to make, i now see why mine are different, i use shortening, still good but i bet the lard is the magic ingredient. i also used spiced rum, it's what i had on hand, i think my mom used port wine? regardless, these always bring back the most wonderful memories, i want to cry when i taste the first cookie, takes me back to my mothers kitchen as a little girl.

Oven Pot Roast

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2011
Followed as written but I did notice I used the wrong can of cream soup when I was cleaning up. It was cream of chicken not cream of mushroom. No matter! It was awesome. Tasted exactly like Morton's Pot Roast that you can get at Costco. This is definitely the only pot recipe I will use in the future. Thank you!

Swiss Chicken Casserole II

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2010
EASY and delicious. This will be a keeper. I used about 1/2 cup of dry white wine instead of milk and about 1/4 of sr. cream. I also added a bit of gouda because I had it on hand. Even the 'chicken again?' hubby loved it. Thanks.

Quick Coffee Cake

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2009
Great easy recipe made with everything I keep on hand. I did read the reviews first so the only changes I made were to add enough sugar to equal a half cup and added about 1/4 cup more milk. Thanks for sharing, a perfect Sunday morning sweet.

Chicken Scarpariello

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2008
Great recipe. I took another reviewer's advice and added the juice of one lemon and some fresh zest during the last few minutes of reducing the sauce. I also used a whole can of chicken broth instead of water and still added the boullion. I think the secret lies in making sure you reduce the sauce by half to concentrate the flavor. Added a tablespoon of cornstarch to thicken the sauce at the end, threw in a drained can of asparagus because hubby insists on veggies and I had them on hand. Great flavor. Thanks for the recipe!

Margaritas with a Bite

Reviewed: Apr. 11, 2008
I've been using the recipe for years. In the blender, use 1 can limeade, fill can with tequila and pour that in, a 'pour' of triple sec, if you have it, fill to top with ice and blend. Top glass with a squeeze of fresh lime juice. You won't know when to stop!!!

Tangy Pomegranate Martini

Reviewed: Mar. 29, 2008
Kickin' martini, not too tart, not too sweet. I muddled a lemon wedge with the simple syrup and ice before adding the vodka and juice. Gives an essential lemon flavor. Thanks for the recipe!! These could be dangerous, I'm on my second one!!

Grilled Bacon Jalapeno Wraps

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2008
Every time I take these to party they are gone before the plate hits the table. We either grill them or cook them in a hot oven for about 20 min. Sprinkle a little garlic powder for a bit of extra flavor. MMMMMMM!!! I think I'm going to make a batch now!!

Mexican Casserole

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2008
I made a few changes as well, added onions with the ground beef, used sour cream instead of the soup, used flour tortillas and less cheese. Great base recipe. I was kind of leary but it had such great reviews. I still thought it was kind of missing something, maybe a bit more spice? I'll definitely keep making until I hit it!! Thanks for the recipe.

Cream Cheese Squares

Reviewed: Apr. 20, 2007
So easy it's shameful.....so delicious it's shameful. Very versatile, you can add fruit or drizzle with chocolate sauce when cooled. I took advice from other reviewers and reduced cream cheese to 1 package, used powdered sugar, and definitely only 1/4 cup of margarine. EVERYONE loved these and are anxiously awaiting another batch. Thank you for a great easy recipe.
