Saw this somewhere & found it to be helpful. 1 star - Don't Make Again 2 stars - If everyone else likes it, I'll eat it. 3 stars - Make again, but adjust it. 4 stars - This was good just as it was. 5 stars - I'd eat everday. Save it and I might want it for my birthday meal. MORE

About this Cook
I am married with 3 children & 1 granddaughter. My daughter is 23 with a daughter who will be 2 in January. And I have 2 boys, ages are 5 & 8.
My favorite things to cook
Quick & Easy - in a slow cooker with not much work. I tend to get distracted while cooking.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I have put together a cookbook for my family, in-laws & my work. The work one contained about 600 recipes in it. I love to try new recipes to find the "perfect" one. I've found many on this site. Since my parents are slowing down & going out to eat more often now, I've taken on Sunday Meals for my family & parents. I've also taken on the Thanksgiving duty, but left Christmas Eve to my parents (steak & lobster...yummy!!)
My cooking triumphs
My families favorite is Chicken & Rice or Chicken Cordon Bleu (which was taken from this site). They also love the Chi-Chi's cornbread I make & I've found another cornbread recipe from this site that I LOVE!!
My cooking tragedies
I usually have to make Angel Food candy 2 or 3 times before it turns out good and doesn't burn. That's just 'cuz I don't focus 100% on it.

Corn Dogs
We made these for dinner & they were very very good. We never made homemade corn dogs before, so this was a treat. I had to tilt the deep fryer to get the whole dog in the oil, so I think next time I might just make the mini dogs without sticks so they can be dropped in. Or buy shorter sticks (or cut them down) & put into my electric skillet because a regular pan would be too small for dog plus stick. Batter was delicious!!

Oatmeal Crispies I
This is the recipe I've used for years, except I use 1/2 the amount of finely chopped walnuts (personal taste) and I've never heard of dipping the fork in milk to flatten...I just cook & they flatten as they bake. Definately one to double up on & store in the freezer for later use. YUM!

Good Old Fashioned Pancakes
I made these this morning & my search has stopped. This is the one going in my recipe book. I tried "Fluffy Pancakes" yesterday, but I think the "soured milk" turned my taste away from that one. This one definately tastes like the ones from the box we usually buy. No more shopping, I've got the recipe now!!
