Maria's Paella

I was skeptical when I read the recipe because it didn't have any chicken/seafood broth in it. As expected, it was a pretty dry and not very flavorful paella. I've had much better. It didn't have that seafood flavor that defines a paella, instead, it just tasted like rice with some seafood on it.

Chef John's Stuffed Peppers

The best stuffed peppers I've ever had! Absolutely amazing! The recipe as shown makes enough stuffing for 8 whole bell peppers, easily. I just cropped the tops off and cleaned them out. No cutting the peppers in half and doubling them, so you'll need 8 whole bell peppers for this, not 4 cut in half.

Baby Beet Salad

It was a little odd tasting for me. Not bad, but nothing I would make again. The flavors just didn't meld very well - everything seemed like a separate flavor, and the beets just tasted like beets with orange juice on them and a little vinegar.

Tom Ka Gai (Coconut Chicken Soup)

It's a good soup, but not really Tom Ka Gai - at least not like any that I've had in a restaurant before. I added a few stalks of lemongrass, and it was a very healthy and easy lunch to make.

Greek Orzo Salad

This recipe makes enough to feed an army. It's good, but not great. It came out very dry, so I had to add quite a bit more red wine vinegar and olive oil just to lubricate the stuff and give it some kick.

Steamed Lemon Grass Crab Legs

These were not only the best crab legs I've ever made, but they were the best crab legs I've ever had anywhere! My girlfriend agreed. Absolutely amazing. I made them with 7 clusters of snow crab legs, and about halfway through cooking I added about 1/4 cup of water to help them steam better. Unbelievable flavor!
